This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of March, 1940, in accordance with request made by the brother-in-law and sister, Mr. [417] and Mrs. [1192], Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading Mt. Sinai Hosp., 10:35 to 10:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Rm. 17, 5th Fl., 100th St. & 5th Ave., N.Y.C.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1000].

  3. As we find, the body has naturally grown some weaker; yet there are bettered conditions in some respects.

  4. The irregularity of the heart’s activity, the pulsation, the tendencies for nausea, and the general weakened condition, are very disturbing.

  5. But, as we find, much better conditions may be had by the allowing of the body to rest, - keeping as much of pleasant environs about the body as practical, - not that of revelry, but that which indicates care, love, attention; not to overtire the body, of course, nor to cause such actions that would excite or cause the disturbing forces of fear, but the more pleasant activities.

  6. In the present we do not find the body capable of being removed from the present environs, or that it would be best in the immediate.

  7. We would insist, however, that as little as possible of the sedatives be used; and that there be used the Infra-Red Light for the body. This as we find should aid in stimulating a better creating of the cellular force to replace the used forces through the body, - from its activity, not only the warmth created by its action upon the system but the activity upon the structural portions themselves, in creating a better flow in the blood stream, and thus aiding the bodily forces in regaining better conditions. This we would use at least once each day of thirty minutes to an hour.

  8. After using the Infra-Red Light we would massage or rub the body gently, especially along the spine.

  9. Do that.

  10. These as we find, with the creating of better influences in the mind of the body, will bring the bettered conditions.

  11. (Q) Should there be a change either in doctors or nurses? (A) If there is that of a sympathetic or helpful nature in those attending the body, keep them. If there is that of a resentful nature, or the lack of cooperation even with the applications here suggested, change.

  12. (Q) Any suggestions as to which doctors or nurses would be best? (A) This must be acted upon by those caring for the body.

  13. (Q) What is the real cause of her illness? (A) Lack of the proper coordinations in the activity of creating cellular forces in the body.

  14. (Q) Would it be helpful if her husband came to see her? (A) If there is a desire, or an expressed desire, - and if it is for a helpful, evening influence that represents care and love, - yes. If it is for the purpose “just to get by,” no.

  15. (Q) Have the doctors so far given her the correct treatment? (A) As indicated, there has necessarily at times been too much of the sedatives, which have locked the system somewhat. Not that the nerve medicines for the nerve energies should be stopped entirely, but the use of those applications which are more creative as to the basic forces would be of the greater help - with as much rest as practical.

  16. We are through with this Reading.
