This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of October, 1930, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [1005].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1005]. This we have had before. Now, there are changes in the physical forces of the body since last we had same. In the changes as have been wrought through the circulatory system, those glands and those tendons as govern the ileum plexus - or in the region of the vermiform appendix - we have an impaction that causes the disorder or distention. This, as we find, may be removed through the application of exterior forces in taking into the system small doses - but all that the system will absorb - of olive oil. We would apply wet cloths - HOT - over the area, and then follow same with hot oil packs, see? first, to open the pores and to relax the system. Then apply the oil packs - Castor Oil. Following THIS, cleanse same with tepid water, and apply equal parts of aconite and of an opiate - or laudanum - that we may distort the pain, but do not eat too much - and do not STRAIN the system before this is relieved. SHOULD inflammation arise, or should temperature or extreme NAUSEA arise, then it would become operative. Do as given first. Ready for questions.

2. (Q) What dosage of olive oil and how far apart should the doses be taken? (A) Teaspoonful. Take ‘em every hour.

3. (Q) Is the appendix affected? (A) If it had been we would have said so!

4. (Q) What causes the impaction? (A) As given, inflammation of the lining in intestine in this region, from those poisons as have been broken out in inflammatory condition in the body. These collected through congestion, and strain following - first as a stitch, or a hitch in the side then following an impaction, see?

5. (Q) What should the diet be until this is removed? (A) Green vegetables and liquids.

6. (Q) How often and how long should the oil packs be applied? (A) Until there is relief.

7. (Q) What about mental condition in regard to the whole condition? (A) This, to be sure, has its effect upon the system. An attitude of RESENTMENT will produce inflammation. An attitude of any internal activity, or holding that desire as is needed, will assist in the psychopathic effect had upon the nerves of the system, and especially through the ileum plexus. Know what’s to be done, then just watch consciously it act! There is NOT inflammation in the appendix. There is in the caecum, where this impaction occurs.

8. (Q) What causes the cloudiness of the urine? (A) Read just what has been given as regarding the character of inflammation in the system! See?
