This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of October, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1015], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 10:50 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Md. (Property of the late […] of …, Garret Co., Md., now belonging to his sister-in-law and nephew, […] and [1015] of …, Md. This property is in two lots, as it is recorded on the Court records, a copy of which record - and a description of the property - I hold in my hand. You will answer the questions regarding this property and the estate of […], as submitted by his nephew, [1015], as I ask them:)

1. EC: Yes, we have the property as located here, near …, Maryland; and those associations and relations as respecting same.

2. As we find, it would be well that there be an endeavor to maintain or to HOLD the property AS a home through the Federal Loan Agencies; that may be had - if there is made the claim and it retained as a home for […], [[1015]‘s mother].

3. In the answering of the questions here, these - as we find - conform rather to some speculative interests.

4. While there were moneys buried here, these we DO NOT find intact in the present; though a portion of same may still be found where there is the old pit and an old outbuilding chimney. These are in the back yard, and at the place where SOMEONE has removed the greater portion of same.

5. Ready for questions.

6. (Q) What was my aunt, […], wife of […], trying to tell my mother about this money before she died? (A) About its location, and about the happenings - that were known in part by this body.

7. (Q) Did she hide money in the same place with her husband’s? (A) Not as we find.

8. (Q) Or elsewhere? (A) We do not find any hidden money by this body.

9. (Q) How much money should we be able to find altogether? (A) Depends upon how thorough the search is here. It should be sufficient to care for the immediate needs. There is not the amount that was first indicated, now. As we find, this has been removed - a portion of this - because the whole amount was not in one place. About fifty percent of that which was FIRST placed, or now some two thousand dollars. Part of it, though, has spoiled.

10. (Q) Please give explicit directions for locating it. (A) By the chimney of this outhouse, close to the old pit that was there - or between same, see?

11. (Q) Any other advice that would aid us in locating this money? (A) This, as we find, is the location.

12. We are through with this reading.

Dear Mr. Cayce,

In regard to the Psychic reading that you gave me on Oct. 5th concerning some money that you said was buried under a small house in the back yard. You said it was buried near the flue, between the flue and a pit that you mentioned but I do not know of any pit unless it was a shallow pit that he had dug under the back part of the room that he used for a toilet (See Source File Key #1015 for drawing on other side [of letter] re 1015-1.) Please tell me which room the money is under and which direction it is from the flue and how deep it is in the ground, and about how far it is from the flue.

Dear Mr. [1015]:

In answer to your recent letter regarding the buried money on your property, we feel that you are looking in the wrong place. According to our interpretation of the reading, there is an old pit and an old outbuilding chimney in the back yard, and this is where you should look. Disregard the pit in the pantry and concentrate on the smoke house, shed, small buildings and barn, looking for an old pit and possibly only part of an old chimney. The money should be buried between this old chimney and the pit.

It might be well, also, to check back on the history of any old buildings on the property that might have since been torn down. But the reading states they are in the back yard and you should concentrate your efforts there. Wishing you every success, I am,

R3. 9/16/36 Mr. [1015]‘s brother ([1721]‘s father) requested rdg. for Mrs. [1435] in re her late racketeer husband’s estate, buried box of securities, money, etc. - See 1435-1 on 8/29/37.

R4. 10/29/38 Mr. [1015]‘s niece obtained a Physical Rdg., asking questions in it in re buried treasure of her great uncle (the same as referred to in 1015-1. See 1721-1, Par. 17-A—30-A in re Gov. bonds left by the great uncle, also money hidden by his wife in the front porch steps of the house (in Garrett Co., Md.). Mrs. [1721]‘s father-in-law said their radio instrument (M. T. Scope) had indicated the steps, not very definite, however.
