This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of March, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1031], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading At home in 4:15 to 4:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Conn.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. As we find, there are little changes of importance since last we had the body here.

4. Yet as we find, there is a great deal of pain when the body attempts to move about, or when there are activities of the nature that require the use of the locomotories.

5. As we find, it would be more in keeping if the body would arrange, for at least a period of two to three weeks, for the treatments under the supervision of Backman as indicated; the hot and cold water treatments, with just sufficient of the massage to assist the circulation.

6. And begin immediately with the use of the other applications suggested.

7. Then, if there is the suggestion that further treatments are necessary as indicated through the Backman method, let THAT source make the suggestions for those in close proximity of the body, see?

8. These as we find would be the most advisable ways and manners for the body to carry on.

9. Ready for questions.

10. (Q) Would it be possible for me to take the hot and cold water applications at home, without having to make the trip to N.Y. to Dr. Backman? (A) As indicated, better that for the first three weeks, at least, there be arrangements made that these may be given by one well versed in such treatments.

11. (Q) Could this be done if I visited my sister in Philadelphia? (A) Unless you carried Backman with you, what would be the use of visiting Philadelphia? It is the specific type of treatment that Backman gives which is necessary, you see, as we have indicated for this body in the present.

12. (Q) Could you suggest any order in my day of activity which would help? (A) This will be better given after there has been the following of the Backman applications, as indicated, for at least three weeks. Then this may be better indicated, see?

Dear Mrs. [1031]:-

In going through our files I find that we do not have a report from you regarding the Readings which you have received from my father. As you know, we are trying very hard to keep as complete records as possible on each case. So, we shall appreciate very much your cooperation in filling out the enclosed report blank; being as specific as possible regarding the details which were mentioned in the Reading that checked with your condition, and the results you have obtained in following the suggestions. You can well imagine our interest, as a research organization, in the amazing accuracy of these Readings in analyzing conditions about which my father consciously knows nothing; and only a compiling of data containing a statement from you will complete these records.

You have noticed, I am sure, the growing public interest in psychic subjects. We have in our files now thousands of readings such as your own, which have proven helpful to individuals in all parts of the country. It is our belief that a scientific and businesslike study and presentation of the findings in these Readings will be of tremendous benefit to the medical world, and to groups interested in the psychic research field. The enclosed pamphlet will outline our Expansion Program which is going to make this work of indexing and presentation possible for us. We are confident with every individual whose Readings are a part of our records will want to have a part in this program.

My dear Mr. Cayce:-

I am enclosing my check. Will you please fill it in for the proper amount to cover a mental and physical reading - you gave me on last year but I was too ill to follow the directions which called for treatment in New York and I am unable to go there. I went to the sanitarium and improved

• but am all in torment again from nerves and a relaxing of muscles which support my midsection. My posture drops and my whole body folds up, and my abdominal section expands and spreads - and the nerve ends do not support me or go through.

It changes my appearance and personality and makes me ineffectual in physical activity -

Please write me when you can given me a reading - and in your reading try and advise me a course of treatment which I will be able to follow - diet - routine activity - treatment

My dear Mr. Cayce-

I will be at home in my room in ”…” in …, Conn. on Monday April 29 - between 3:30 and 4:30 in your reading. This is a little different location as I have lost my home and am living in a furnished room.

If possible would you include these questions.

What is wrong with me? Has it a name?

Where should I plan to live? The present arrangement is not helpful. What chance is there of my being healed and where should I go for help? I went to Dr. Backman before you suggested it - but am not able to see his method through alone, and I am entirely alone with no one to help or advise.

What is the reason for the one sided headache - pain behind the nose, disorder in the eyes - and the feeling of discomfort and disorder in my right side?

Will my sense of balance, orderly procedure, and well being, return?

What is responsible for the unusual increase in weight, when food is so uncomfortable and I feel so wretchedly.

Should I drive a car?

What can I do about employment?
