This psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of December, 1935, in accordance with request made by the husband - Mr. [5544], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:35 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.

2. In many respects changes have come about in the physical forces of the body since last we had same here. While there are not ALL those conditions that may be desired, as we find, if there will be taken those precautions as respecting the general physical structure, the general ionization of the system - as it were, there would be brought the better forces and influences for the body.

3. Keep the body in an alkalin state through those precautions as respecting the diet, as has been indicated for the body.

4. And in the ionization, use the manipulative forces with Sulphur Baths at times. In taking such, there must be the precautions that there is not the tendency to leave the pores of the skin and the centers about locomotories too much open after same. That is, we would have a rest period and gradually cool off, using those precautions to close the pores.

5. In the matter of the sensory reaction, or the eyes and ears and those conditions that have at times caused and do cause disturbances, these show SOME improvements.

6. The applications for the eyes would be made in the manner indicated, in the manipulative forces as well as the local applications.

7. We would keep, then, the activities other than this for the general condition; and, as we find, it would bring the better forces and influences for the body.

9. (Q) How often should the Sulphur Baths be given? (A) Two or three times a month.

10. (Q) Should all former treatments be now taken? (A) As has been indicated, only those where necessity does not demand leave off.

11. (Q) Any spiritual advice for the body? (A) Let there be held as a portion of the whole influence about the body, that those influences that may be had in applications for helpfulness to the body must be spiritualized by the self; in that the body-physical, with all its attributes, may be the more purposeful in all of its relationships, all of its dealings with not only self, self’s surroundings, but those whom the body mentally, physically, may contact.

For ALL healing, of EVERY nature, MUST be and IS from the Creative or spiritual forces MANIFESTING within the INDIVIDUAL’S application of same in its own body.

R1. 12/23/35 Husband’s [5544]‘s letter: ”…Report of reading reached me this morning. It was not so much of a check-up that I wanted as to be advised what to do about what befell Mrs. [1083] in an accident she had. I am now concerned about it. You mentioned nothing as to that and I must admit it is somewhat a setback to me. Do write and tell me as I need not tell you my anxiety. Assuring you of my appreciation and thanks and with many good wishes for your happiness and health, in which Mrs. [1083] joins me, I remain sincerely.”

R2. 12/27/25 EC’s letter: ”…I have just received yours of the 23rd. Mr. [5544], I think there should have been some questions submitted by you that we might have had asked in the reading specifically concerning the condition you wished information. As I understand from that given, you already knew all of the conditions and these had little or nothing to do with the general treatment necessary at this time. We are very anxious to check on this for you, though. So, if you will give us something of an outline or some specific questions to ask, we will be glad to include this at some time when we get our next group of check readings…”

R3. 1/10/36 Husband [5544]‘s letter: ”…Thanks for your note and interest and for your kindness in going to recheck on the condition on Mrs. [1083] as of the 1st. Had hoped to be in a position to satisfy some people whom I have never been able to sway that your method deserves their attention and that it has merit, but I did not dare show them the report sent. The form that I sent for originally requesting information, I noted on the back of this sheet that Mrs. [1083] has met with an accident and it was about that that I wanted to be informed on. It is possible that you did not note this. Have been telling people that I told you nothing whatever about this injury sustained in this accident, as I never informed you about any of the conditions asked for several years ago, and as then you diagnosed and suggested so I felt you would in this case likewise; for the moment it would be known that you were told as to what happened the affect could never be the same - in fact none of these certain folks. So if let us know when you are going to find it convenient to make this recheck we will keep this appointment…”

R4. 1/13/36 EC’s letter: ”…I have yours of the 10th, and note what you have to say about Mrs. [1083] and your desire to convince others as to the value of psychic information.

“In this respect I would like to say this, Mr. [5544], I wouldn’t advise that you ever try to do that. It will not do any good; it will only make people say things about you and to you that hurt your feelings. If this information is worth anything at all it is from spiritual or God-given source - and cannot be approached with the idea of PROVING it. God cannot be proven; he can only be EXPERIENCED! And the individual who goes in to prove things only defeats his own purpose. That’s why it has been said that it is in the foolishness of men that the wisdom of God is made manifest.

“I don’t want you to get the wrong idea from this, but we never make a promise to anyone. And I am sure where a person asks any question just to prove something, it will never will tell him - if it’s asked just for curiosity! If the seeking is from a real need, then it’s different - and usually the information will meet the emergency.

“You remember the miracle of the manna in the wilderness. The people were only given a day’s supply at the time; they weren’t given a week’s supply nor even two day’s supply - except Sabbath. There was nothing given them except when they needed it. This wasn’t a proof.

“It is in Him that we live and move and have our being, and when we fully trust, that which is NEEDED is supplied; no more - just the needs for the moment, if we will only believe.

“But we are setting the time for Mrs. [1083]‘s check reading for Monday afternoon, the 20th. …Let us know if this is satisfactory… I trust that Mrs. [1083] continues on the improve and that there may be supplied that necessary for her best physical and spiritual development at this time…”

R5. 1/16/36 Husband [5544]‘s letter: ”…Thanks for your kindly note - will try and be guided by it.

“Naturally am interested in Mrs. [1083]‘s welfare above all

• now particularly - about her injured limb. So the time you have been good enough to set for the check reading is agreeable. As to questions we would suggest that the following be asked: Please diagnose the present condition of the injured limb. What do you suggest be done to bring about its complete healing and restoration to its former use? Should any special food be included in the diet to help the quicker healing of the injured limb? What could be suggested to be done to remove the constant burning sensation in the stomach experienced since this injury befelled this limb? What is it the physicians neglected to do at the hospitals during her two confinements there?”
