This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of August, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1100], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 11:30 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Mich.

  1. GC: You will give the present physical condition of this body at the present time, with special reference to cessation of menses, also constant headaches; with suggestions for further corrective measures, and answering the questions she has submitted as I ask them.

  2. EC: Yes - we have the body, [1100] this we have had before.

  3. As we find, while the body-physical is very good in many respects, disturbances that arise from the cessation of the menstruation or menses do cause an upsetting of the whole nervous system.

  4. Thus the headaches.

  5. In the present, as we find for this body:

  6. First we would have a sweat - as from a hydrotherapy treatment, with a general cabinet sweat. This should not be with the heat raised so high as to cause distress or disturbance, but more of a FUME bath; that is, the heat from the fumes of Witchhazel - of course, in water - this to settle over the body until there is a good sweat. Then have a thorough rubdown with salt rum, you see, and a general masseuse or massage treatment.

  7. Then we would take a combination of properties prepared in this manner:

  8. To 1 ounce of Lime Water add:

10% solution Iodide of Potassium…30 minims, 10% solution Bromide of Potassium…10 minims.

Shake the solution when the dosage is taken, which would be a teaspoonful in a little water (about a tablespoonful of water) twice a day; early of morning before any meal is taken, and before retiring of an evening. Continue this until we have a good reaction from the Potassium Iodide in the system. This will make for a correction and a regulation of the activities. Do not take for so long, of course, as to upset or cause too great a flow. But take for three to four to five days.

  1. And keep out of very COLD water. Have the baths and rubdowns tepid, rather than very cold.

  2. Thus we will find this will dissipate the headaches, as well as aid in the general conditions.

  3. It may be necessary after the fifth or sixth day to repeat the Cabinet or Fume Bath, with the rubdown.

  4. A general osteopathic treatment would be MOST beneficial.

  5. Do that.

  6. Ready for questions.

  7. (Q) Did bathing stop the menses? (A) Too cold a water caused the disturbance.

  8. (Q) Anything special to be done for the headaches? (A) This as indicated is the special for the headaches, as well as for the upsetting conditions.

  9. (Q) Please give any further suggestions that will prove helpful. (A) Do these for the present - and keep constructive attitudes and activities of the body.

  10. We are through with this Reading.
