This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of December, 1942, in accordance with request made by the husband - Mr. [470], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 10:55 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Utah.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1100].

3. As we find, the acute conditions, while they are causing or may cause quite a complexity of disturbance, primarily arise from indigestion.

4. This has caused an upset in the whole of the circulation, and a cold with this congestion has disturbed even the heart, liver and kidney circulation.

5. We need to get the body thoroughly relaxed, - first with an eliminant such as Castoria with Syrup of Figs added. Take out two teaspoonsful of the Castoria from the bottle and take it. Then add two teaspoonsful of Syrup of Figs in its place. Shake the bottle well, and begin taking half a teaspoonful of the mixture every hour.

6. Relax the body with either dry or wet heat; dry heat is the easier, as with a hot pad along the spine, especially across the area between liver and kidneys, or on the spine at the 9th dorsal, extending downward.

7. When there have been the eliminations, take two heaping teaspoonsful of Sal Hepatica.

8. When the body has rested a day from the strain, do have a thorough relaxing treatment, osteopathically given; with particular reference to the congestion in the area between the 2nd dorsal and the upper cervical, with reference to the pulse.

9. Do these for the present.

R1. 12/6/42 “[470] and I both want to thank you for your love and kindness in taking my reading so promptly. It arrived on Sat., altho the wire came about noon the same day you took the reading. You see, I had been sick for several days and had been fortunate in finding a very good osteopath, a young one, with an open mind and I had already prepared him for cooperation with the readings. He is much interested and he, in turn, has interested one of the professors at Brigham Young University here, who is interested in psychic phenomena.

“Of all the times I have taken Castoria I forgot all about taking it this time, altho I believe we did everything else you ever suggested, so of course started it immediately and am feeling much better. Dr. Notestine [Thomas W. Notestine, D.O.] had already asked me about the indigestion which I had forgotten but recalled vividly after getting the reading. On top of it I took a heavy cold and congestion, which I was unable to shake and it was accompanied by a severe throat condition.

“Dr. Notestine said he wished Mr. Cayce would tell him how to move my 9th dorsal as it is the tightest one he ever saw. He has been unable to move it so far. However, I believe when I’m able to be out and go to his office he can do so, as he has had to treat me on a table here in the room and I cannot relax very well on it.”

R2. 12/19/42 “Well, it seems that I cannot straighten out the digestion and every bite of solid food has been distressing me very much, ever since I’ve been up, so guess we’ll have to take another reading.”
