This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of June, 1930, in accordance with request made by her son, Mr. [5086].
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ky. (Physical Suggestion)
- EC: Yes - already there is the tiredness of the physical to leave the physical, and little may be accomplished unless there may be aroused more within the physical the DESIRE to keep life and body together. The heart’s action low, slow, the movements are automatic, rather than in any form of resuscitations. Only by the stimuli, and by the awakening of the desire, may these be aided. Not by drugging, but by stimulation - as that in those of the heart’s stimulus - Digital and strychnine, and massaging with oil and myrrh, and awakening the desire; but the body is weary - the soul is well, and tired, and seeks rather the release from the tired conditions. We are through.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 7/1/30 Wire: Wire directions Digital. Directions oil and myrrh. Kind of oil. [1690]
R2. EC’s wire: Give Digital under physician’s directions. Equal parts olive oil and tincture myrrh. Heat oil, add myrrh. Edgar Cayce.
R3. 7/5/30 Daughter [1690]‘s letter: “We received the reading given for Mama and many thanks for it. We are massaging her spine every night with the oil and myrrh. Do you think that is often enough? The doctor said for her to take 10 drops of the Digital only when she felt that she needed it and so far she hasn’t taken any. Mama was not herself for several days but is alright that way now, but she is so weak and lifeless, and has no appetite. She just will get up and dress but lies down part of the time. She has suffered so long and so much and for about a year has suffered intensely with her eyes. I think she is exhausted and worn out from suffering so much. Do hope and pray that she will improve.”
R4. 7/12/35 EC’s letter to [844]: ”…You may know that in 1922 the doctors in … said [1181] had heart trouble; in fact they only gave her a few hours to live, when they phoned me at the time in Birmingham. And, as you know, she is still living - and when I saw her last, while nothing to brag about, she was still able to be up and going. I wonder if it IS heart trouble…”
R5. 1/31/36 Daughter [1690]‘s letter: “We again thank you a thousand times for all you have done for Mama and my family.”

B2. 6/26/30 Letter from son [5086]: “Called up here Tuesday […, Ky.] account of illness of Mother [1181]. They have been having some awfully hot weather up here, and the Doctor said that she had a slight stroke. While she recognizes us all, she is not the same by any means, and I wonder if you think it advisable to give her a reading. You know how we all feel about you, and the Doctor here does not say anything much, than what we observe ourselves…”
