This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of August, 1936, in accordance with request made by the mother, through Active Membership of her husband, Mr. [391], in the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Edna B. Harrell, Edna Mae Hewett, Aline Andrews and sister, and L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Virginia. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have had the body here before.
-
As we find, the body would get along much better if there would be the adherence consistently to those suggestions that have been made as to the care and attention for the body, with the proper preparation of foods, with the proper precautions as to the eliminations, the use of those properties for the cleansing through the system.
-
For it will be necessary to change from time to time from the Saffron Tea to the antiseptic (Glyco-Thymoline), if we would eliminate from the system the infectious forces as the bodily functions develop.
-
Aid with the Castoria in keeping the eliminations near normal.
-
The rubs as we find are well, also the use of the ointment for the cuticle itself; not too much, but gently.
-
Do not use a soap in the bath that is caustic! for this makes for irritations to the new skin!
-
Do these, and we will find we will make for the better opportunities for this body.
-
Without the precautions, with cold, with congestion, conditions are as has been indicated.
-
(Q) What soap would be best to use? (A) Castile; pure.
-
(Q) What causes the splotches on his face and body? (A) Congestion, non-balance in the diet - or not preparations in the proper way and manner, and the eliminations and those infectious forces in the system itself.
-
(Q) Can anything be done to relieve the phlegm in throat when it chokes him? (A) Use a little Ipecac, or more preferable for the present Syrup of Squill - very little, two to three drops, but this will remove it. But it will require that there be those precautions that the eliminations are kept, or with the phlegm going through the system we may have great inflammation in the colon.
-
(Q) In what condition is his stomach now? (A) Still upset, and shows still those infectious forces within. More consistency is needed than medication or activity. Nursing is what we mean by consistency; the consistent application of that given, see?
-
(Q) Should he be gradually exposed to the light now? (A) Should not be exposed too much to the light YET! For with this continuing of the infectious forces, this exposed to the light with the new skin, we will have it still worse - and it may become as scabs, and that would be still worse!
-
(Q) Of what should those in charge be most precautious from now on? (A) As has been GIVEN!
Be CONSISTENT!
- We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 8/12/36 Aunt [288] wrote Mrs. [1100]: “Little [1208] didn’t take long in fulfilling his reading (1208-1); he has had an awful time with his stomach… If we hadn’t gotten the readings on him, too, he wouldn’t have lived through it… Now he is, we believe, out of danger and is getting fat. He just smiles and coos all the time…altho not 2 months old he can raise himself on his little hands (lying on his stomach) and look up at the light. He just loves every tiny crack of light and all the time he was broken out we had to keep him in a dark room.”
R2. 8/25/36 Aunt [288] wrote Mrs. [601] about [1208]‘s parents separating: “It is surprising that a soul - such a soul - would choose that environment; still, as the rdg. (1208-1) says, there are the two sides to him and he can be a power either way. He is such a darling baby - so unusual in physique and alertness for his age.”
R3. 10/3/36 See 1208-6, and subsequent Ck. Physicals.
R4. 6/10/64 Aunt [288]‘s letter: “It is interesting to note that after going through his teens in perfect health, while in the marines it was discovered that he had a stomach ulcer. Every now and then the trouble flares up and needs to be treated, sometimes requiring hospitalization. Fortunately, no surgery has yet been performed.
“Another interesting thing to me is that he has never been able to drink alcoholic beverages. As he first began to try, in his early teens, he would become deathly ill, vomiting, etc. Perhaps the allergy set up when a baby was still existent, or else the reaction was psychological because of his parents having ruined their lives with alcohol. He also detests wine, whereas it is well known that in his last incarnation he was a connoisseur of wines.”
