This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 21st day of September, 1937, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [934], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Frank H. Scattergood.]

Time of Reading 3:20 to 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1208]; this we have had before.

  2. The acute conditions in the present arise from the congestions from cold and inflammation in the bronchi and the lung itself.

  3. This is rather serious, and there needs be those measures taken to check the temperature which causes the inflammation; for it arouses not only the disturbances in the organs but the latent infectious forces which make for the deeper disturbance to the system.

  4. As we find in the present, we would keep the inhalations or the room or air ladened with the fumes; but these we would change somewhat from those being used. Prepare same in this manner:

Tincture of Benzoin (NOT the Compound)…1 ounce, Oil of Eucalyptus…1/2 ounce, Oil of Turp…1/4 ounce.

Put these together. Use a teaspoonful of the mixture in the croup cup, or in the boiling water, so that the fumes are inhaled.

  1. We would massage the body with the Camphorated Oil; but let the massage be AFTER an Osteopathic adjustment or treatment.

  2. Then about every two to three hours, until there is the release from the rattling and the heaviness, we would give about ten to fifteen drops of the Syrup of Squill at a dose.

  3. In the late evening, if there is not relief, then we would call the physician for the use of the deeper measures for same.

  4. Ready for questions.

  5. (Q) Any specific directions regarding the Osteopathic treatment? (A) To relieve the pressure, that the air may be the better through the lungs, and reduce the temperature. Use the rectal thermometer for the temperature.

  6. (Q) What about the nourishment? (A) There will be very little, but the regular combinations of the milk as it has been taken would be the preferable; with, of course, a little of the citrus fruit juices.

  7. (Q) Any other directions as to keeping down temperature? (A) These as we find in the immediate are the conditions to be used.

  8. We are through for the present.
