This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 16th day of March, 1938, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [1348], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Mass. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: As we find, there is considerable improvement in the general physical reactions from that as we first had here.
-
It is true, there are periods when there is seemingly not as much activity - or the ability for activity - as at other times.
-
However, this is necessarily - as was indicated in the beginning - a slow process.
-
But there has been begun a better coordination, and the establishing of the better coordination in the nerve ends about the injured portions.
-
Hence the body should continue to be on the improve, with the keeping up of those things that have been indicated.
-
Of course, not continuously - as was first indicated - but systematically and consistently, being persistent - we would have the osteopathic adjustments or treatments of the character and nature indicated to follow out the nerve centers; that is, have regular periods of rest, periods of treatment.
-
Also we would keep the low electrical vibrations which aid in stimulating the glandular force for nerve building, and supplying through same the impulse that is the basic reaction through nerve fibre itself.
-
Then the general physical reactions for the digestive forces and the eliminations should be kept, of course.
-
These we would do.
-
To be sure, it requires patience on the part of the body-entity. But know that it is SELF ye are meeting; and that, being capable and willing for the divine forces to work in and through thee, ye may accomplish that whereunto ye have been CALLED into activity in this experience.
-
Then be consistent and persistent, KNOWING that that which WILL bring the better forces MAY be accomplished if those suggestions are followed as indicated in a systematic manner.
-
The periods of rest should be, as indicated, dependent upon circumstances and activities; and the associations and surroundings. But be persistent with the osteopathic manipulations in their regular periods, also the vibratory forces of the low electrical vibrations carrying those better influences that are so essential under such disturbance.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Would it be best to take him to Goshen again this summer? (A) If that is the desire of the body, and if the environs and surroundings have carried or do carry with them the expectancy for greater activity and greater conditions for constructive experiences, it is well.
If they are as a drudge, no.
-
(Q) What about the arrangements we had last year? Could any improvement be suggested? (A) These were very well, and if they are in keeping with the feelings of the body itself they may be made again.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 5/22/38 Mother [1348]‘s ltr.: “It is amazing and highly gratifying how understanding [1215] has become, and to him it seems the most natural development. But we can see the greatest contrast between the heedless, headstrong boy of yesterday and the patient, considerate boy he now is. And this experience has not in the least broken his spirit, for he is the strong character he always was, only his energy is directed in worthwhile channels. He is a great tease and quite a wit, so life is never dull, and he neither expects nor wants sympathy. In every sense of the word, ‘He can take it.’” [See 1215-4, Par. R2.]
R2. 9/26/38 Letter from [1215]‘s mother [1348]: ”…It is some time since I have had a check reading for my son, [1215], and so would kindly ask you to give one for him at your earliest convenience.
“He IS making progress, but it is extremely slow, when you consider it is now past three years since his accident.
“And so I am wondering if at this time you will not get more suggestions to help him.
“There are no specific questions to ask except is the routine still what it should be, and the people we employ to help him in various ways the best we can find for him?…”
