This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of July, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1224], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., through her daughter, Mrs. [1158].

… Lodge, Long Island Time of Reading in Lake Huron, near 11:10 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern War Time. Hessel, Michigan.

1. GC: With particular reference to best form of drinking water for the summer period.

2. EC: Yes.

3. To be sure, if it were practical, the having of water shipped in would be the better for drinking water.

4. But for all intents and purposes, that would prevent any disorders, if the lake water were boiled (of which there is plenty) with slack lime in same, it would be alright for drinking. To every two gallons put about half a teaspoonful of slack lime, but BOIL thoroughly; then let it settle and strain; and then keep it cool, see?

5. (Q) Would the well water at Camp Chase be beneficial to drink? (A) This as we find, unless it were boiled, would not be even so well as the lake water. The lake water, treated in this manner as indicated, would be better for all those who would drink same.

6. (Q) Any other helpful suggestions for a healthful summer? (A) Keep these in this direction as indicated, for the better health - as from the standpoint of the water, anyway.

1. Is the Lake water, pumped in from the South Shore of our Island, undesirable for us to drink?
2. Will it increase our comfort and health to change the present form of drinking water which is now pumped in from the Lake?
3. If desirable to change, how can we most easily supply a satisfactory drinking water: Would boiled Lake water be desirable to drink? Would the Well Water at Camp Chase be beneficial to drink?
4. Any other helpful suggestions for a healthful summer?

B3. 6/30/42 Letter from Daughter [1158]: “Though I adore the place, and love the air and sunshine and woods, my stomach is usually upset all the time I am there. One of my nieces always brings bottled water to drink when she visits there, as she declares the water upsets her stomach. Many other people have complained about it, but nothing has ever been done about it. It would be dreadfully expensive to import bottled water for everyone - 14 - in all, but I feel if Mother and Dad would improve and prosper better on boiled water, or bottled water, or well water (which could be carried from a well a mile away), then they should drink it. Or, if distilled water is the best for them, then I would want to know if it would be possible to get such an apparatus at reasonable cost, the name of the distiller, and where to purchase it. However, as they have no electricity and only wood stoves, I fear it would be a great nuisance to have to distill the water. I convinced Mother it might prove helpful to inquire about this water question.”
