This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of August, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self, through Mrs. [482].

1. EC: Yes. As we find, conditions are very serious. There are the advanced stages of those forces where they have set up within themselves and become as a parasite in its advanced stage, drawing upon the vitality of the body - and becomes cankerous [cancerous?] in its nature.

2. Those applications that have been made, under the existent conditions make for the inability of being whole, yet as we find some help may be given to ease the intenseness of the suffering, to allay the fiery reaction or drawing upon the system, and to make a general reaction for helpfulness in the body.

3. We would take, then, the Animated Ash internally; one quarter grain once each day, preferably in the evening or afternoon, and apply three to five minutes each time after taking for a minute and a half to two minutes the violet ray, electrical vibrations, over the lumbar and lower portion of the sacral and lumbar area.

4. When the pains are so severe, while the narcotics are effective, this taken once a day or once in two days as we find - WITH the others - would be more effective but would necessitate it’s being administered by a physician:

5. In a capsule put:

Eucalyptus, Oil of…1 minim, Rectified Oil of Turp…1/2 minim, Compound Tincture of Benzoin…1/2 minim, Codeine…1/4 grain.

6. These to be sure would become too heavy upon the digestive system unless it’s far apart. The allaying though of the activity will be helped with this, as we find. Do not allow this to be taken oftener than once a day; this at the periods when the suffering is the severest.

7. These as we find offer the greater possibilities for some relief or some ease for this body.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) Any advice regarding diet? (A) Naturally those that are easily assimilated, those that are of the semi-liquids and such that strengthen the body without meats if possible.
