This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of March, 1942, in accordance with request made by the daughter - Mrs. [1158], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading At home, 4:15 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Ohio.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes, we have the anxieties and those impressions of the entity or body.

  3. As we find, the massage for this body would be most beneficial. Were this given every other day, the better.

  4. Ready for questions.

  5. (Q) Any special directions for the massage? (A) Massage always away from the body, or away from the heart; as from the 5th cervical upward, from the 5th cervical downward; and this should extend to the limbs and especially along the area of the sympathetic nerve system, and follow out the nerve forces through the limbs and especially across the ileac plexus area - or in the lumbar axis and downward.

  6. (Q) What causes recurrent muscular jerking and how overcome? (A) This is from the inabilities of the body to perfectly relax. Hence, as indicated, a tendency for incoordination between the sympathetic nerve system and the cerebrospinal or central system. Thus the main activities should be to the sympathetic rather than the cerebrospinal; so as to make the better associations or reflex activities in all centers where greater branches of the sympathetic and cerebrospinal join, - as along the spine, from the 5th cervical upward, the 6th and 8th cervical downward, see?

  7. (Q) What else may be done to improve condition of body? (A) If there are the better eliminations, and the occasional hydrotherapy, especially the high colonics if given properly, it would be most beneficial for this body; and plenty of rest and relaxation.

  8. (Q) How often the hydrotherapy or colonics? (A) About three to five weeks apart.

  9. (Q) Should any attempt be made to reduce the enlarged abdomen? If so, please give full instructions. (A) Not in any manner other than such activities as suggested. These are nominal, normal conditions for the body under the existent circumstances, and to attempt to interfere would work hardships upon some portions of the body, see?

  10. (Q) Should Dr. Chase’s liquid medicine now taken before breakfast be temporarily discontinued? (A) If continued at all, it would only be occasionally - not altogether.

  11. (Q) Should any other cathartic be taken, if so what amounts? (A) When there are the needs for cathartics, as we find the senna tea would be more apt and more active for better conditions of the body; this made from the senna pods or senna leaves, see?

  12. (Q) Should any other medicine be taken? (A) Only as may be necessary for keeping the equalization in heart and lung and kidney area. These are supplied through some of that indicated and given when necessary.

  13. (Q) Should special diet be taken? (A) This better be kept rather close to that the body itself makes for itself; not too heavy foods, of course, ever, but those that keep a nominal supply for the appetite - though keep from sweets or very sour foods.

  14. (Q) Is his regular breakfast of bacon and eggs, coffee and fruit, to be renewed? (A) This as we find can be renewed when this is most desirable by the body. In moderation, not too much, of course.

  15. (Q) How many meals a day and at what times? (A) Two meals a day should be sufficient, but these should be controlled rather by the body. Morning and evening meals, preferably.

  16. (Q) Can you give some helpful suggestions to Dr. Andrew Robinson or Dr. Robt. Crumm [Robert L. Crumm, D.C.], handling this case? (A) Only as indicated in the manner of the eliminations, and in the forms of the massage that has been given.

  17. We are through for the present.
