This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of January, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self, through a relative, Mrs. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [337].

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1327].

2. As we find, there are specific conditions as disturb or prevent a normal functioning of the body.

3. These as we find arise from a subluxation in the lumbar area. Not in one but in most of the segments of the lumbar, but more specific upon the axis.

4. Thus the organs of the system as related to the organs of the pelvis, as related to the distribution of the energies for the system and especially the suffering as produced from the organs of elimination in periods, and an affectation also to the circulation to the pulmonaries and a cross disturbance in the eliminations between the alimentary canal and the respiratory and perspiratory system.

5. These as we find then produce or make for, at various times or at periods, headaches, distresses, upsetting of the digestion, a general depleting to the whole of the system itself.

6. Hence we find, if the corrections were made in the area - osteopathically - with those vibrations also of the sinusoidal (or reverse coil, application of electrical forces) to make for the proper activity of the digestive forces as related to the system, we would find a gradual changing; and in a few months much nearer to normal conditions as related to THESE disturbances in this body, [1327].

7. As we would find, then:

First we would begin with the corrections in the whole of the lumbar area; to be sure, coordinating the central nervous forces, or from the 9th and 10th dorsal, the brachial center, or between the 1st and 2nd of the dorsal areas, with the cervical through those areas especially of the vagus center or in the 2nd and 3rd cervical; and we would find it necessary to make these applications about twice a week for a period of three to four weeks, and then a rest period of a week to two weeks, and then again.

And in the second period of such treatments osteopathically made, as indicated, we would begin with (that is, during the second course of the treatments, you see) the use of the sinusoidal - this rather in the low vibration than the high. And direct the activity of same for emptying the gall duct and the activity of the lacteal ducts through the system.

10. In the periods of the extreme headaches, the excess acidity, we find that bathing those portions of the lumbar area indicated with a combination of three parts Laudanum to one part Aconite, followed by the application of heated salt (in bags or pads over the lumbar area), would make for an easing of the disturbance.

11. Do these and we will find we will bring near to normal conditions of this body.

Dear Sir-

I am in receipt of your reading of last Sunday for Miss [1327] and am terribly disappointed inasmuch as your picture does not seem to fit the patient at all.

She has at no time complained of any of the things you mention hence we shall not be able to take advantage of your suggestion as to treatment.

I wonder what can be done about it?

Also what do you mean by Life and what is meant by “mental and spiritual made for”. You only have physical and life listed on your application.

Dear Mrs. […]

Have yours of the 9th and note what you have to say regards the information for Miss [1327]. This is so unusual it is most interesting, and we would like to follow this up. Suppose you make a few questions on what she thinks or has been told is the trouble, and let us see how if any the reading check up with what it has already given. Of course no charge for this, but our own research. That is why we like for every one to ask some specific questions that the information may tie up with that they think or have been told they have been suffering with. We of course know there may at times be a great deal of difference in what appears as symptoms and what the information gives. But when they are checked together, more often than other wise it ties in.

The Life reading is an analysis of the experiences of a soul in the earth and to be sure is based on a theory of Reincarnation. But have proven to be most interesting and so often most worthwhile to individuals, as hundreds of them testify can send you some data on these if you wish, as to what others say, and as to the conclusion of the researchers on the subject from the study of the information we have gotten for others. The Mental and Spiritual, is the approach in more of a Philosophical manner to the mental processes of the mind of the individual, and how they may apply self for their own Soul development.
