This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of January, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [133], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis and L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 4:15 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, West, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes. As we find, in some respects the conditions show some improvements. In others there has been little adherence to that which would relieve the mucous-producing conditions in the colon and the effects that these make upon the body. If there is continued to be taken into the system in the food values and in the properties that which makes for a continual irritation to those conditions in the mucous membrane, or in the lining of the stomach itself and in the intestinal system, there will continue to be the effects of the gas, the bloating, the swelling of the limbs, the indigency as related to the whole activities; disturbance through the functioning of the organs of the pelvis, an overstimulation to the kidneys and those activities through the bladder.

  2. We would have more of the massage; not necessarily corrections, if the massage is done properly, but an oil massage each evening before retiring.

  3. We would use those properties indicated for the activities with the digestive system; not the large quantities that have at some times been taken (the Al-Caroid), but after each meal take at least a quarter teaspoonful in a glass of water. Keep this for three to four days at a time, and then discontinue for two or three days. Then begin again. Do this until there is NO reaction from the gas-forming influences in the system.

  4. It would be well, too, that the water taken (other than that with which the Al-Caroid is taken) contain either a pinch of elm or Saffron. At one time use a pinch of elm - ground elm bark. In the surroundings there may be obtained the elm; the slippery elm bark, not the exterior but that next to the root itself (and it’s a good season to gather same). Keep this cold, or very cool. Do not let the quantity made up become stale in any manner, but let it be the drinking water at least two or three times each day. At other times during the day use the Yellow Saffron, that may be made into the form of a tea; to a quart of water put a level teaspoonful of the Saffron. Let this steep as tea. This may be kept in a cool place and drunk as tea at one time, while the pinch of elm would be put in the next glass of water that would be taken.

  5. Be mindful of the diet, that it is in accord with that we have given. Beware of hog meat or fresh meat or any fried foods; the fish, fowl or wild game should never be fried, rather smothered, stewed, broiled, or the like. The vegetables should include all those that make for body and blood and nerve building; not too much of those of the tuberous or even bulbous nature, although these may be included in moderation only.

  6. Doing these, as we find, would make for the better conditions. Unless these changes are made, as indicated, the conditions must - and will - become of such natures that a gradual drain through the malignant activities in the system will make for disintegration.

  7. Follow those suggestions given, then, very closely.

  8. Ready for questions.

  9. (Q) What is the condition of kidneys? (A) As indicated, take those properties as given for the relief of those strains made on same by the inflammation in the colon and other portions of the system.

  10. We are through with this reading.
