GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the relief and improvement of same, and you will answer any questions I may ask you regarding same.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body. We have had this before.
-
Now, there are many changes as we find in the physical forces of the body at present from that as we have had here before. While some of the weaknesses as have been given, especially as regarding diet and the eliminations, are involved in the condition, yet that as is produced at the present time is an accentuation of those conditions or weaknesses with the other poisons as are not eliminated from the system. Hence, as is seen, the temperature, and the inclination for the slowing up of the capillary circulation to the portions of body, especially in upper trunk portion. Hence the variation in heart’s action and the condition in lower portion of body.
-
To meet the needs of the conditions at the present time, the body should be kept entirely quiet, see?
-
The body should receive sufficient of heat by vapor, or by wet sheets or blankets wrapped about same, to set up an increased capillary circulation, see?
-
Taking inside of same at the time, see, hot camomile tea - hot as the body can drink it, see? followed with cool drafts of Yellow Saffron Tea, see? but after each bath (as this) the body should be massaged thoroughly all over, osteopathically, and then have (after the massage) cocoa butter massaged into the spine, across the abdomen, into all of the lymphatic circulation, about the throat and neck, and, as is seen, while this will weaken the body, it will NOT interfere with heart’s action, properly done, unless the body allowed to chill, or excess action - physical exertion - following same, but the capillary circulation must be restored to the equilibrium of the body, so that eliminations are set up properly between the external and internal circulation, see? [1352] we are speaking of.
-
With these variations, be careful of lungs, using the inhalant as has been given, which will be found in these properties:
-
To six (6) ounces of pure grain alcohol, add:
Eucalyptol…24 minims, Rectified Creosote…5 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…10 minims, Benzoin…10 minims, Tincture of Tolu in solution…1/2 ounce.
-
Put contents in twelve (12) ounce bottle, glass corked. Shake solution well. Then inhale both through nostrils and into the lungs, that there may be a clarification of the blood through this inhalant acting as an antiseptic and clarifying the lungs, preventing any occurrence of pulmonary disorders by the changing in circulation and the reduction in elimination through other channels.
-
Let the diet be principally those of the vitamin nature, such as weak broths of any nature that agree with the body, especially tomato or okra juices, see? Small amount of beef juice may be given, but very small.
-
And see that the bowels act regularly.
-
When this strain is taken off of the body, and the circulation, the strain will be removed from kidneys, and these will act, for the suppression and excess as is seen is produced by the unequalized circulation. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What is the condition of the blood? (A) Carrying those poisons as are not eliminated, either through the proper circulation or through the hepatics, for the liver shows congestion, as does the kidneys overtaxed in both suppression and over activity, see? Hence the condition as must be relieved by the hot baths, so that the respiratory system is set up, reducing temperature in this manner, see? and the massage and the cocoa butter is to reduce the temperature, feeding the nerve ends, preventing any of that taxation to the body that recurs from such high temperature and such slow circulation in capillary system. These conditions will be weakening for the time being, and do not keep them up when circulation is established normally - but this will establish same, as given, see?
-
(Q) What is the condition of the heart? (A) That as described, for when the circulation is not equalized, naturally the more taxation to that organ. Not organic conditions - FUNCTIONAL.
-
(Q) Is this condition serious? (A) Serious - for we see how these have been given for the application of these conditions. Send these special at once, see?
-
That is all the questions.
-
We are through with this reading.

R2. 4/25/27 EC’s ltr. to [1690]:
Dear [1690]-
Your wire just received. No, I did not write a letter at the time, for I was quite anxious to get the reading off and I had so many things on hand right at the time it was impossible for me to write. It was necessary for us to change our appointments all around to get this in; also it forced me to put in the whole day yesterday, and I’m pretty well worked down. Just at the time the reading was taken we had attorneys here who were getting up our corporation papers, but I thought in the information given, with your mother’s assistance, and possibly calling on [304], who I believe is in … you would be able to get this straightened out - though I realize that your little girl is in right bad condition, but I felt it would be impossible to make you understand by trying to put the information in a wire - but in answer to the wire:
To be sure, the blankets should be just as hot (and wet heat) as she is able to stand. This, of course, as the reading indicates, will make her rather weak, and it will be necessary to be very careful and see that she does not take cold following such baths. She should be wrapped from her head - that is, of course, her head ABOVE the blanket - to her feet; for this is given, as I understand, to set up circulation in the skin and capillaries. I don’t think you can do this more than once a day, unless it becomes very necessary. It would possibly be the same thing if you can put her in a tub of hot water, then rub her down and wrap her up following same in a warm dry blanket. Or if you had a steam cabinet, where you could give such baths - this would be alright. She should remain in the blanket or in the bath from twenty to thirty minutes. I would give the Camomile Tea FOLLOWING such baths, to kind of stimulate the body. She should use the inhalant whenever it is necessary, or three or four times a day, unless it becomes necessary to use it for prevention of coughing, choking up, or something of that kind. You will know the circulation is normal by watching the pulsation, watching her temperature, and when eliminations are properly set up. Of course there will not be as much eliminations through the intestines with these baths given every day, or every other day, as there would be without them, or should be without them, but it will be necessary that you see that her bowels move good at least once each day. I’m sure your mother can help you to determine about these things, just as [304] would be glad to if you phone him. I don’t know where he stops, but I’m sure though […] sees him every day or two. I’m sending this special delivery, for I didn’t feel like I could explain it fully enough in a wire, but I’m in hopes you will be able to understand and I certainly am in hopes you see results immediately, for I feel sure she will respond at once, and may not be necessary to give her more than two or three of the blanket baths - if you have to use that way. Should you give the tub bath, put her in the water just as warm as she can stand and let her remain in the water a while and then add more hot water, until it is just as hot as she can stand it. Let her remain in this for twenty to thirty minutes. Then rub her down thoroughly, rubbing the body until its aglow all over, and wrap in good warm blankets. See that she doesn’t take cold doing this, for if she did it would be worse than if you didn’t give them to her.
You know I’m mighty glad to try to be of help, and we’ll certainly appreciate your letting us hear from you every day or two, until she gets a whole lot better - and if you do not understand the instructions, or if anything comes up, don’t hesitate to call on us, for we want to be of help if possible.
With best love from all, EC
