This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 12th day of January, 1926, in accordance with request made by her husband, Mr. [900].

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [136] of New York City, and the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these, as I read same to you, and you will answer the questions which I will ask you regarding same.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [136]. This we have had here before. The dreams as come to this body are in that way and manner as have been given, and should be applied in the life in the way as has been outlined for this entity. Ready for dreams.

3. (Q) Tuesday morning, January 5, 1926. “My mother was well and to be married and all were celebrating. I was sad because I could not join in the merry making because I knew she had to be operated on again and would die. Also I was disappointed because I was not invited to her wedding.” (A) In this there is presented to the entity those conditions which present impossible conditions in the physical to the physical mind, yet these are presented in such a way and manner that the mental body-mind may gain that spiritual lesson that should be gained from the conditions seen.

The mother is well - will be well. Not through operations, but through those applications of spiritual forces that may be awakened in the individual, as to give that physical effect, as has been shown, and as may be manifested in physical bodies.

The sad condition, the condition that is seen, that the physical body knows of conditions that will prevent, indicates the inability of the physical body to understand physical conditions that have been produced by spiritual effects in the system, see?

Then the body should take this lesson: That which is presented to the body-mind from time to time should not only be judged from the physical reasoning, but should with the mentality of the entity, [136], be reasoned with that spiritual insight as may be awakened in the consciousness of the entity and judged according to that result obtained by such, see?

6. “Dreamed of [900] all night - can’t recall exact dreams - but much of him.” (A) In this as is seen, there is then in the mental forces of entity those conditions which bring to the subconscious forces of the entity that which needs to be reasoned through such forces. Then, the lesson [for as is seen, no definite stand, no definite point - rather a drifting condition in the stabilizing conditions of the entity]. The entity should know, realize, some definite stand, some definite attitude, physically, mentally, must be taken, that there may be the more perfect understanding, which would make each entity in themselves, and as a whole, better magnify that as is held nearest and dearest in the hearts of each.

R1. 1/16/26 Husband [900]‘s letter: “Thank the divine Father [136] comes home from the hospital today. That surely was a close call - the biggest doctors predicting the contrary outcome when she entered. I surely thank you for your services.

“Then Mrs. [139], (136’s mother) is doing fine although there seems to be some indication on the part of the doctors that a second operation will be necessary…”

R2. Dreams submitted by her husband which were not interpreted in the readings: 1/21/26 or early morning 1/22/26: A long dream of which I remember only the following: “I saw a circle, and this circle was divided into half. One half of the circle was marked by lines and the other half was left blank. Someone seemed to be explaining this illustration (I didn’t recognize whom) in reference to some physical understanding that I might gain. The person was telling me that it is the names that we in the physical life give to things that makes it so hard for us to understand.” [See husband’s letter 1/22/26, below.]

R3. 1/22/26 Husband [900]‘s letter re. above dream of half circle [See in his file his interpretation of the dream, relating it to her incarnation as Helen of Troy]: “[136]‘s dream seems to have a definite important reference. She refuses to believe in reincarnation but things constantly happen to swing here back. For example, Mrs […] brought her a book - The Private Life of Helen of Troy, by John Erskine - and one of the characteristics stressed therein is Helen’s remaining unmoved during the trouble all about her, and that is [136]‘s outstanding characteristic; her mother’s sickness, her own trouble left her calm and collected; she just couldn’t become rattled as did her sisters… As the Life Reading says [136-1], she can adjust herself to any condition… She just can’t see herself as Helen of Troy, or the other individual yet she does correlate certain characteristics in herself and in them, and here her subconscious tries to show her the blocking by physical viewpoint of her gaining the proper concept.”

R4. 1/25/26 (Cont’d from Par. R2 above, dreams submitted by [900] which were not interpreted in Readings.) “I heard [900] talking over the telephone about some particular stock. I said: ‘It is 6 now. Now is the time to buy. It is! Why don’t you buy it?’”

“Some quarrel with my mother. She was explaining to me why I got myself into trouble.”

“Something about Europe, as pertaining to some work. Did not get it quite clear, but something about Europe.”

R5. 1/27/26 See 136-32, a physical reading, shortly after which she had a miscarriage.

R6. 2/13/26 Her mother, Mrs. [139], died and she was able to go to the funeral, although just out of the hospital from surgery, miscarriage, etc.
