GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [136] of New York City, and the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these, as I read them to you, and you will answer the questions I ask you regarding same.
-
EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [136]. This we have had here before. Ready for dreams.

(Q) Morning of May 19, 1927. Ed […] pointed out my lost pin to me as attached to my string of pearls. Upon investigating I found it was another pin than that my mother gave me and not the one I wanted at all. (A) This is, as has been studied, seen, and experienced (in portion) by the body mind, as concerning the lost articles. Were those conditions followed more closely as respecting the positive action in relation to those who are suspected by the body, these may be recovered in whole. Yet, as is indicated by that being pointed out by someone else, were other means used, there would occur that attempt at exchange, or the covering up, which would PHYSICALLY prevent the body from recovering that as is wholly desired.
Rather, then, to recover same, follow those lines which the body did follow as respecting the clothing that was taken, or that the entity suspected one of removing. Be not unmindful of the lessons that self may gain as to the consciousness of others in respect to position and the relations therewith.
Also be not unmindful of the lesson that others may be made to understand by stating to such ones the truth that is seen through the channel of the vision of this body. For the silver and the gold, too, as taken, is but naught when compared to that which may be taken from an individual, even when such an one has erred.
- We are through for the present.

B1. 5/19/27 Husband [900]‘s letter: “Now, open your ears, eyes and, above all, your understanding and also recall our conversation in the auto about lost articles, people in relation to readings.
“When [3816] was called home to her father’s death, she missed a fur scarf and a bottle of perfume. We searched the house for both, particularly the valuable scarf, in vain. Time and again we searched the hall closet where our wraps are kept and where it should have been. It was not there. We accused no one and suspected none and let it go. Last night [136] missed her diamond breast pin that her mother [139] had given her for a wedding present, and as it was the only keepsake she had from her mother, it was very dear to her. She felt terribly about it.
“Our girl (maid), [4786], as you saw, is a meek, willing little girl and we tried hard to do for her. We got her the reading for her health and she does feel better. We sought only means to help and do for her.
“Now last night [136] went to sleep with a heavy heart, but with ill will or definite suspicion towards none. But she wanted, desired terribly, to gain in dream from her inner self the solution to her pin’s disappearance. She had faith and sought from the source of sources the help. She about prayed for His help. Here are her dreams, which please take…[See 136-64]. Please, Mrs. Cayce, ask regarding contemplated substitutions, or any questions that may further enlighten us in line with interpretation given.”
(2nd dream) “I desired the pin I valued so highly due to sentiment attached thereto and sent to Cayce for a reading. I got the reading and it told me [4786], our maid, had taken it and I didn’t believe it. Then my sister [3816] spoke to me, saying: ‘Well, someone in your house is stealing; my scarf went, and perfume.’ Then I found myself discharging [4786]. I did not accuse her of stealing - simply told her I could not use her any more. How, if at all, may I recover this pin? How should I go about to do it? Is it as indicated regarding [4786]?
“Well, you can imagine how we felt in the morning, but we still did not believe it was [4786] who took the things. I told [136] I thought the dream clearly indicated that the one who took the scarf also took the pin. We were puzzled and decided to send to you for reading. Now another surprise. Then we got to the breakfast table [4786] was not smiling. She looked worried. Who could have taken the scarf, [136] and I wondered. [136] couldn’t believe it to be [4786]. Suddenly [136] got an intuitive feeling - a hunch!
”‘[900]’, she said, ‘Look in the clothes closet and see if that scarf is there.’
“‘O,’ I replied, ‘We’ve looked there many, many times and I am in there with my typewriter all the time. It is impossible for a big thing like a scarf to be in the closet after our searches for it.’
“‘Look anyway!’ she said. I did, and there on the shelf, as big as life lay the fur scarf! Of course we knew then [4786] had become worried and replaced or, rather, put the scarf back. Coming on top of the dreams it startled us. I told [137] and it astounded him. [136] holding the scarf out at arm’s length could not believe her eyes and I noted tears come to her eyes as I mentioned her dream. ‘It seems,’ I said, ‘The Lord has eyes to see, where we cannot.’ What forces had been set in motion? Our house is His house, for by our faith we have made it so. That is not good ground for those who intend evil towards it. The interpretations will prove not only interesting but will help us. May we take readings on lost articles, etc.? Ask in thine own heart and soul - not reasoning or intellect - but into that which is the composition and process of intellect - into that which gives the reading, and gain there the answer. When [136] turned there it seemed to respond promptly enough, definitely enough, and words and matters were not minced. She was told who was doing the stealing in our house and how to act on said information. We are the last ones to try and get even with her. She may go her way. If the pin may be recovered the reading will tell us how to go about that. Maybe she will replace the pin with a false one as indicated. In this case of course she is working with someone. We’ll wait and see. At any rate we intend her no harm. If we can get the pin back we’d like to. If not, she may go her way.”
