This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of May, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1373], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., through request and sponsorship of Mrs. [1158].

[Edgar Cayce, Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 3:45 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1373].

  2. As we find, there are those developing conditions that are not abnormal but that are in line with construction and development in the mental and the material and the spiritual forces as related to the body.

  3. Then there would be rather those precautions during these latter periods, as developments progress.

  4. For self there should be those precautions as to the activity and the general stress that is upon the lower hepatic circulation, or the kidneys and the bladder.

  5. There should be for self and the developing body (that will be, as we find, nominal, normal, if those precautions are kept) sufficient calcium and especially - in the foods and in the activities that carry - sufficient phosphorous for the nominal, normal blood development.

  6. These would make for the better conditions for the body.

  7. As we find, the osteopathic care would be most preferable for such normal developments and to keep the body in its activities, in its care, in its general coordination.

  8. For when there are the necessary developments for the mammary glands, the glandular activity, the double circulation and the call upon the activities of the heart and the liver and the natural stress as this produces by its retardment to the lower hepatic circulation, it is preferable that the correct coordinations throughout the system be kept by manipulations osteopathically.

  9. With these, we find there should be little or no unusual disturbance with the body at the time of presentation.

  10. Ready for questions.

  11. (Q) I would like to spend my summer at ”… By the Sea,” … miles from Ellsworth, Maine. Could I safely journey there by automobile, the end of June, if we drive slowly, stopping over night? (A) As we find, there is no reason - if those precautions as indicated are kept in mind - that such a trip, or such an activity, would not only be feasible but helpful to the whole general conditions.

  12. (Q) Is there an adequate place for confinement in or near Ellsworth, Maine? (A) These conditions should be investigated by the body according to those to whom the body would entrust the delivery, or the necessary precautions to be taken at such a period.

As we find, such arrangements may be secured not so far away from the surroundings, but these should be in sympathy with that one whomever the entity or body chooses as the type or character of attendant during the period.

That is, as we have indicated, there are certain schools or certain characters of activity (the osteopathic) that are the much more preferable, in ALL characters or phases of confinement - or of birth; and these naturally have an interchange of sympathetic friends in the same profession.

Such an attendant, then, should be chosen in that manner.

As from here:

We would advise that Dobbins make the proper adjustments and treatments during the period between now and June. Once to twice should be sufficient; then make the inquiry and then the arrangements through such associations may be made.

  1. (Q) Would it be better if I remained in N.Y. for confinement, or went to …, Ohio? (A) Read just that which has been given. As we find, if the precautions are taken, the experience in Maine may be made a helpful one for all concerned.

But the necessary arrangements, the necessary connections and associations are to be considered.

Such activities as these, to be sure, are to depend upon or rest with the choice of individuals, with the will itself.

  1. (Q) Can you give the approximate time of birth, and any other interesting data pertaining to this incoming soul? (A) This as we find is to be about the middle - between the first of August and the middle of July; but of course it depends upon the activities of the body. Full time, of course, as we find, is to be desired, and is to be expected - if there is the compliance with the natural laws as respecting such developments and such activities.

Then in keeping with these there should be the natural spiritual activities of the body as respecting that it has professed.

  1. We are through for the present.
