This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of June, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1377], Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.J. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1377].

2. As we find, there are changes for the better. However, these accumulations, these pressures and the tendencies for the inflammation that arises from the accumulations in areas where scar tissue becomes involved, are in those stages where it would be well that we keep especially the manipulations and the drainages as may be set up by same.

3. Keep the eliminations somewhat to the excess.

4. We would not need to give the oil packs so much now, or so often, unless there are acute conditions arising - or the tendencies.

5. As to the treatments and the breaking up of the lesions, these may be best found by the manipulations being given in an OSTEOPATHIC manner.

6. These we would do.

7. As for the rest, we would keep much in the same way that has been indicted for the body.

8. Ready for questions.

9. (Q) How shall I know when the adhesions are removed? (A) As indicated, this can be told by the manipulator, the osteopath, as the manipulations are given over the areas where these have existed - through the abdominal area and the caecum area and across the whole of the abdominal area.

10. (Q) I still have a bearing down pain - (A) There is the necessity then, as indicated, to keep the eliminations a little in excess, that the poisons that are broken up - and that have been released - may be carried off from the system, and that inflammation doesn’t set up again.

If these pains become severe, necessity demands, of course, that the Packs be applied again; but these can be put farther and farther apart.

11. (Q) Should I continue with the electrical treatments? (A) These are well.

12. (Q) Any other advice? (A) These we would do, and keep in as constructive frame of mind as possible under the circumstances.

13. We are through for the present.

Dear Miss [1377]:

Just hope you keep on the improve, yes, the packs are messy, and not very pleasant in hot weather, but are usually most effective know we will be anxious to hear from you as to how you get along, and are glad to try and help at any time. Wish you might come to the Beach for a while, we have a lovely Osteopath here [Gena Lowndes Crews, D.O.], one that was associated with the Hospital when we had same, can’t you come down, wont be much more expensive than staying there and we might be able to save you an operation.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Enclosed find order for $10.00 as promised.

Am experiencing no discomfort - now from Adhesions but - shall still apply vibrator and use the oil internally.

I should enjoy visiting Virginia Beach but - am not financially able to do. I remember Mrs. House very well. Please remember me to her.

B2. 6/13/37 Letter: “You are right when you say oil packs are disagreeable affairs, especially in hot weather. However, the end justifies the means. We have followed instructions religiously. When you receive this we will have completed the 4th round. I am feeling somewhat better but still have a bearing down pain at times. The disturbance in the region of the liver and appendix seems to be gone… Not having an inner sight, how shall I know whether the adhesions are severed? I presume we will have to have another reading to find out…

“Dr. Browne was closing the house for the summer when I went to see her, and I had to make other arrangements. I have no home and am in a furnished room. Have to have a trained nurse to give me the constant packs and the electrical treatments (although I can give them just as well myself - I mean the electricity), and the osteopathic treatment I have to get from outside.”
