-
EC: Yes, we have the body and those conditions as respecting same, [1418].
-
Now as we find, while in many respects conditions are very good, there are those subtle conditions that disturb the body; producing rather a profusion of disturbing forces.
-
Hence we have those conditions where unless the proper basis of eliminating the disturbances is set up, we may have a greater distress later that would be much harder to deal with.
-
For with the hindrances as in the present, the body attempts to adjust itself to the disturbing conditions, creating those influences as to be combative to the disturbing forces, and thus producing a constitutional disturbance that becomes something to be reckoned with.
-
These then are conditions as we find them with this body, [1418].
-
IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find here rather the basis of the disturbance; produced, however, by the effect that is created in the blood system by disturbances in organs - rather than glandular system.
-
This has produced, as we find, a humor in the deeper activity. Hence we have a weakness that has produced at times in the extremities anxieties, in stiffness, soreness. In others we have had conditions where the digestion has been upset, where there has been some irritation to the activity of the hepatic circulation, and the kidneys giving disturbance. At others - these all are affected, or affect the system through the nervous systems.
-
Hence an incoordination exists from the disturbance, in the hepatic and upper hepatic circulation as related to the coordination between the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic or vegetative nerve systems.
-
These as we find have produced then those activities or those reactions in the manner that has been indicated.
-
IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, the pressures here, then, become the basic reactions through which help may come with stimulating the centers from which the coordination between the nervous systems gives rise to the reactions.
-
These then as we find are in the lumbar area, 9th dorsal area, and especially through the lower cervical centers; and, to be sure, all will need coordination.
-
Hence in making applications as we find that would be the more helpful, there should be at least two or three series, of two or three weeks each, of deep osteopathic manipulations and adjustments.
-
And during those periods after the first series, give the diathermy treatments. These then, the diathermy treatments, would be continued - but less often - during the series of the second and third series of osteopathic adjustments and manipulations.
-
Necessary that these be made coordinant; that is, the osteopathic and the diathermy treatments. Do not do one without the other - but in the manner as indicated above.
-
In the DIET: While there have been suggestions in this direction, as we find - with these treatments and with the application of those things as we have indicated - rather a more severe outline would be better for the body.
-
Abstain from any of those things that create alcohol or alcohol reaction in the system, especially during the periods when the deep therapy treatments are being given.
-
Refrain from those things that are of a starchy nature, and not too much of sweets; though honey and the honeycomb may be among the sweets taken.
-
Use more of the vegetables. No red meats - that is, rare meats - of any kind. Preferably use fowl, fish or lamb.
-
These adhered to, as we find, we may relieve the gastro-disturbances, the activities that disturb the sensory forces in the effect upon the sensory organs, and the conditions in the extremities of the body.
-
Ready for questions.

We are through with this Reading.

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT
… Ave. …, N.J.
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
I have received the results of the reading and find that you have detailed my condition as it actually exists. I will follow your advice in connection with correcting the condition. However, I am more interested in my brother, [1420], who you read on Monday. I wonder if it would be possible for you to advise me as to his state. He seems to be very lax, and in view of the fact that I can influence him if I knew all, I am sure that your advice to me in his connection will prove worthy. Will advise you further as to our progress.
Sincerely, [1418]
R2. 8/10/37 EC’s ltr. to [1418]:
Dear Mr. [1418]:
Thanks for yours of 3rd. Have been away for a few days for a much needed rest. Hence the delay in answering you. Glad to know you are pleased with the way your condition was described to you, and am very sure with the application of the suggestions you will gain the results promised. The results are the proof, and that as is worthwhile in the experience of every one.
Now as to your brother [1420], would judge the disturbance is a very deceiving condition, and unless he does something about it, he will have Arthritis, Neuritis, or Rheumatism, or possibly the effects of all of these with the accompanying disturbances that come from lack of proper eliminations, and the functioning of the system, related to the eliminations. If there is no objections on his part, will make a copy of his reading and send you if you wish.
Appreciate your interest in your brother, and assure you am glad to try and cooperate with you in any way to see that he gets the advantage of the help that may come.
Hoping to have been of a real service.
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce

Mr. Edgar Cayce Artic Crescent Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Mr. [1418] of …, New Jersey, has come to me for treatment, bringing your instruction sheet. The spinal lesions as noted in the sheet are found to be in accord with his physical condition.
Mr. [1418] has requested that I write for clarification of your instructions of the application of the diathermy, just when and how many. Any further information will be appreciated.
Thanking you, I remain
Sincerely yours, [signed] Vane B. Sigler, D.O., M.D. [VBS:HDW]
R4. 8/24/37 EC’s ltr. to Dr. Sigler:
Dear Dr. Sigler;-
Thank you for yours of 20th. Do hope Mr. [1418] responds to the treatments, and from past experiences am sure he will. As to the Diathermy, as is suggested, page two of the reading. The Diathermy should be coordinant with the manipulations, then it is at your discretion as how to apply same. Our experience where such has been suggested (in the hospital here when open) was that it was begun with a very low current, and applied for the Hepatic circulation. As here it is indicated the circulation is disturbed. But am sure your experience will guide you aright in the matter.
Assure you it is our desire to cooperate if possible, but for me to try and tell you just how, where, what current to use, would require another reading, for I do not know these things of myself. This we will do if you think best, but am sure you will be able to work it out, for the Diathermy does not begin until the 2nd series of treatments begin.
Thanking you again.
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
