EC: Yes (Nice red building - they are cleaning it up some).
-
We have the body here, [1457].
-
Now as we find, conditions in the general are very good. There would rather be given the precautions as respecting the changes that are coming about as the natural development, natural consequences of time as affects bodily functions; and, of course, the chemical changes that take place during such periods.
-
These then would be rather as warnings, or that as we find that would be helpful and beneficial to the body in the adjustments of the new activities in the system:
-
As these chemical changes are the effect of glandular activity, and conditions through the activities of the system, these need to be as precautions that there is the supplying to the system of that which would prevent same from becoming as pressures upon the nervous systems; so that during this change or this menopause that begins soon, we would have the re-balancing or the perfecting as it were of a nominal, normal change for the system.
-
We would use the Radio-Active Appliance as a balancing in the circulatory system. This we would use about the body; that is, right wrist, left ankle; left wrist, right ankle; left ankle, right wrist; right ankle, left wrist - making a circuit of the body in this manner, each time beginning with the right wrist, left ankle, etc. The attachments would circulate about the body in this manner, except a few days before the regular monthly period; when the attachments then would be made, the first to the last dorsal, the other to the pubic center. The Appliance would be used each day for a period of thirty minutes to an hour. Continue for a month, or through the full monthly period, you see; then leave off for a few days; then begin again.
-
When there are the periods of a little tautness, or the inclination to become rather nervous, we would during such periods find it most helpful to take small quantities or doses of Tonicine. This is a compound made from glandular secretions or glandular reactions, and will assist the system in adjusting itself. Take rather half the quantity as is ordinarily indicated, and we find it will work well. Take only when necessary to relieve disturbances of the nature or character as indicated.
-
Do these; keeping the body mentally constructive. That is, as the very nature of the mental influences of the body would be as constructive forces, know that their application does not consist of formulas or ritual but just being kind, gentle, patient, even with those that apparently would torment thee. This is MAGNIFYING those influences that keep a body mentally, physically, spiritually balanced. For the Mind is the Builder. Hence it is both material and spiritual.
-
If spiritual constructiveness is used, then, that builded into the experience must be of those very constructive natures.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Any advice regarding diet? (A) Keep in those things where there is a consistency; that is, not an excessive diet especially in acids but rather the reactions being eighty percent alkalin-reaction to twenty percent acid-reaction. Not that acids are never to be taken, or foods that produce same. Beware then rather of these: Very highly seasoned foods, fried foods of any kind. Not too much of white bread, white potatoes, spaghetti or the like. Those foods of such natures tend to produce acidity, and tend to produce irritation to the nerve system during the next three or four months in the bodily adjustments. Beware then of such.

We are through with this Reading.

Dear Mr. Cayce:
Your letter of the 18th arrived this morning and wish to say that I received the reading on Tuesday just a few minutes before I left the City, where I was until today. While the reading was not very thorough, I am pleased to have it, because it indicates that there was not much to be said. It contained one mistake - the building I am in here is not a red brick, but a modern steel and stone (grey). However, this is negligible. Should I later consider it worth while, shall communicate with you again.
Am enclosing herewith my check for $10.00 together with membership ticket No. 1400.
Thanking you very much for the assistance and wishing you success in New York, I am,
Sincerely, [1457]
R2. 10/26/37 EC’s ltr. to Miss [1457]:
Dear Miss [1457]:
Have yours of 21st with enclosure, thank you. Would suggest Miss [1457] you read your reading again, think you will find it more thorough than you have thought at first glance.
Am sure the “Red Brick” referred to something else, as am personally quite aware of the Trust Bldg., have been there many times, when it was quite new, and oft later, visited Mr. Lusk there.
Thank you, and feel sure the application of the suggestion will be helpful.
With all good wishes.
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce

Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Mrs. J. B. Bracey was in my office this morning and told me you expect to be in Nashville in near future, but I am very anxious to have a reading for myself as soon as possible and do not wish to wait until you are here, unless it is within a few days.
If you will be good enough to give me an appointment date with proper instructions, I shall be very grateful. In order to avoid any more delay than possible, I shall briefly outline what I wish to know.
I am at the age that a chemical change is taking place and during the month of September I have experienced an almost continuous upset condition and have not recovered yet. My Doctor tells me that unless the condition clears up very shortly it will be necessary to take further steps, but my general health is excellent and I do believe you may offer very wonderful suggestions.
Please write me as soon as practicable giving an appointment for a physical reading. I am an Associate Member and will send check with coupon No. 1400 as soon as I know just what step to take next.
Thanking you in advance for an early reply, I am,
Sincerely, [1457]

Dear Mr. Cayce:
Your letter of the 7th received today and I hasten to thank you for the appointment on the 14th, at 10:30 to 11:30 E.S.T., or 9:30 to 10:30 Nashville time.
Since writing you on the 4th, my condition seems to have cleared up very considerably and I hesitate to request a reading now, but believe it might be very worth while knowing how to handle myself in the future. Just now, there are not many questions I can ask, except to inquire what the most important information is concerning one’s condition at my age in life.
I regret to learn that you will not be in Nashville any time soon, but glad to know you continue to be of such wonderful service there. You failed to state how you wish me to handle my appointment. Am not sure whether I should send check now (before the reading) or just how I shall do. Anyhow, you know that I will be glad to follow instructions.
Sorry to report that my sister-in-law [Mrs. [1400]] is no better, but she has been unable to comply with your directions, on account of the inaccessibility to treatment, etc. I hope to do more for her now that the weather is cooler and it distresses me that she could not be relieved sooner.
Thanking you for writing and awaiting you further instructions, I am,
Sincerely, [1457]
B4. 10/13/37 Advise address where you will be for appointment tomorrow morning.
