Time of Reading 4:30 to 4:35 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.
-
GC: You will give the present physical condition of this body, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions that may be asked.
-
EC: Yes - as we find there are ACUTE conditions from the inclination of a prolapsus in the colon area, owing to EXTREME nervous tensions.
-
These have made and do make for conditions such that local attention is needed as to adjustments in the lumbar and sacral area; as well as the increasing of eliminations for the cleansing of the colon AND the gall duct area specifically.
-
As we find, then, we would take a course of Zilatone. This should be taken regularly for at least ten days. In the beginning take three tablets during the day; that is, one about thirty minutes after the morning meal, and two about thirty minutes after the evening meal. Do this for two days, at least; and then take two in the evening for the rest of the period - until we make, through the activity of these properties upon the system, a better coordination between the liver, the kidneys AND the spleen’s activity for assimilation and elimination of the poisons that cause disturbance through portions of the alimentary canal.
-
Have adjustments specifically in the lumbar AND in the lower dorsal areas.
-
Do that.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should the colon be cleansed with enema or irrigation before the Zilatone is taken? (A) This would depend upon the findings of the one making the adjustments, or upon his ability to PRODUCE the relaxation of the tension so that the activity in the upper portion would not be contracting to the lower portion of the alimentary canal.
-
(Q) How often should adjustments be given? (A) About three, and then about once a week for four or five more.
-
(Q) Any advice regarding diet during this period? (A) Not those foods, of course, that are contracting or that tend to be binding for the system. Not too great a quantity of heavy foods, then.
-
We are through with this Reading.

R1. 9/6/38 [1497]‘s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
I returned from Madison this morning and reached home tonight, receiving the reading of August 31st.
That night I had to call in Dr. Schoelles [Geo. J. Schoelles, D.O.] (the night after I telegraphed you) who found my sacroiliac out of joint and his treatment did much to ease the pain. I spent practically all day Friday in bed and had a good internal cleansing - and have begun to feel myself improving.
The reading certainly confirms what Schoelles found and I shall follow instructions. I want to thank you for your prompt action - and believe the treatment will set me right.
Thanks to you all. The family are returning next Saturday and we go back to school routine.
Kindest regards
Sincerely, [1497]
P.S. As to the “extreme” nervous tensions - I did not realize what has been happening, nor was I conscious of being so extremely nervous.
I am preparing a list of questions for another personal welfare reading. [See 1497-9 on 10/14/38.]
