This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of November, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1532], through her mother, Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Miss [1532] and Mrs. [379], Mr. [420], and Rosa and Joshua Manning.]

Time of Reading 4:05 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va.

  1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1532].

  3. As we find, conditions are very good in most portions of the system. There are tendencies and inclinations that might be easily corrected in the present, but allowed to gain a hold upon the system there would be gradually an increasing in the disturbances that these inclinations produce through the body in the present.

  4. We find that these primarily rise from congestions about the gall duct area, and causes not only this tiredness, lack of proper assimilation of foods, but acute conditions as related to the appendicial or caecum area, as well as the headaches and the repression to the sensory forces of the system.

  5. These tendencies, and the resultant effects from same, would be removed - as we find - if there were those adjustments or stimulations for drainage to the gall duct and the liver area.

  6. We find that these would be made best by such an one as Richardson; for those activities that - combined with these in the gall duct area - cause the disturbances.

  7. Take these first about twice a week for a series of six or eight. Then rest from the treatments two weeks. Then have four to six more; and we will find conditions greatly improved throughout the system.

  8. These as we find will remove those pressures that tend to make the lower limbs feel at times numb, or tingling at times, and those general tensions that arise throughout the body.

  9. Ready for questions.

  10. (Q) Please explain cause of the condition in the ears, and give remedy for same. (A) Those general conditions through the system are the specific causes, but of themselves - without being removed - may produce a catarrhal condition. Those treatments outlined for the GENERAL system will remove the causes, and thus allow the body - through the better assimilation and circulation - to replenish or re-supply those forces necessary to remove catarrhal effects - rather than making specific applications for the ears that would only remove the condition temporarily and allow it to build up somewhere else in the system.

  11. (Q) Were the other osteopathic treatments taken administered correctly? (A) They were not given for those things that are disturbing the body now. Some were given very well; some not so well.

Do these now, as we have indicated. Most of these should be taken with the body prone upon the face.

  1. (Q) Is Mum harmful for this body, and if so what should be used in its place? (A) Do not use this too often, but this is a very good application for that for which it is prepared; and is not harmful if not used in excess.

  2. (Q) What kind of shampoo is best for my hair? (A) PLAIN SOAP AND WATER is the best for ANY hair!

Any stimulant that carries a small quantity of bay rum is very good. The Quinine - called Quinine applicant is excellent for this body, for that absorption of the properties from this preparation would work with those applications made for general stimulation of the activities of the body itself.

  1. (Q) Any specific soap to be used? (A) Ivory is the better, or the purest.

As to cosmetics, - use the GENUINE Black and White.

  1. (Q) What would be the best laxative for me to take? (A) Any that is of a senna base.

  2. (Q) In what companies or places of business should I apply for a position? [See 1532-1 on 2/10/38 which advised her to take a business course.] (A) Through those channels of the schools would be the better.

  3. (Q) Through which school should I apply? (A) The Norfolk school!

  4. (Q) Would it be advisable for me to take the Civil Service Examination for Stenographer-Typist to be given on December 2, 1940? (A) We would.

  5. We are through for the present.
