This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of February, 1938, in accordance with request made by the brother - […] and the physician in charge of case, Dr. Thomas Russell, through recommendation and sponsorship of Mr. [257], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc. 1. EC: Yes.

2. As we find, conditions are very low - that is, there are still those infectious forces that are producing in the functioning of the organs of the system the disturbances; by that which produces the fungi in the active force through the lymph circulation.

3. Thus, as is indicated, the liver is affected; as combined with the effect in the character and the growth of the disturbance upon the physical and mental forces of the body.

4. In administrations for helpful conditions for the body, we find there would be required a stoppage as it were of the abilities in the lymph to continue as a growth to affected portions.

5. Then there would be the necessity at the same time, or regularly, to produce such vibrations in the body as to disintegrate infection and affection in the system; through the lower or lowest form of electrical vibrations.

6. Also there would be required the administration of the MECHANICAL reactions - that is, through osteopathy - as to allow the system to be able to eliminate the condition as it is disintegrated to or through the channels of elimination from the system.

7. Hence:

8. We would give, only about once each week - of course, administered under the direction of the physician - an injection in the lymph circulation of a very small quantity of Atropine; to produce a staying to the activity of the lymph flow.

9. Then once or twice each day, for a few minutes, we would have the low electrical vibrations from the low form of electrical applications; either the static or the lower forms.

10. And every other day we would have the GENTLE manipulations as may be osteopathically administered to keep the coordination between the eliminating systems of the body.

11. These three methods or manners of treating, as we find, offer the better channels and opportunities for overcoming this disturbance; these three methods of treatment COMBINED or in COOPERATION one with the other, see?

12. The disturbance arises, as we have indicated, from injections that PRIMARILY were given that combined with those later given for a condition in the glands’ disturbance - in the reproductive system, where small but effective quantities were given - allow the conditions as indicated FROM the activity of same upon the system!

13. The first arose from an impure injection of the conditions from a vaccine for the prevention of conditions in the system.

14. Hence the condition which exists is the combination of mercury and the bovine vaccine; with the affectation to the organs as indicated.

15. Do those things as given, that as we find offer the better channels and opportunities for relief for the body.

17. (Q) Is there any special diet that would be helpful? (A) To be sure, there must be kept normalcy and rather an excess of eliminations from the system. These may be better had by the use of enemas, owing to the condition; with those properties that would keep down infection through the alimentary canal in the use of same.

In the diets - those things that are strengthening but that are, naturally, easily assimilated by the body. Liquids, semi-liquids, and those that are of an alkalin-reaction.

18. (Q) What organs are affected other than the liver? (A) As indicated, the whole of the lymph circulation; including the liver, the kidneys, the heart’s activities, and the natural infectious forces - as this is an infectious disturbance.

19. (Q) Would Dr. James Alexander Miller, 133 E. 64th St., be able to help with his machine or treatment in a case of this kind? (A) As we find, the case will require rather a combination of the three methods of applications as indicated:

One, the injections.

Two, the LOWER - not the higher but the LOWER - form of electrical vibration that would disintegrate, see?

Three, the manipulative measures osteopathically that are needed to keep the coordinations between the eliminating systems, to rid the body of the infection destroyed by the active principles of the Atropine upon the lymph circulation as well as by the low electrical vibrations.

Thus there is the necessity of keeping EVERY condition very CLEAN; to prevent infection not only in the body itself but those administering and attempting to help.

As to the individual physician mentioned, he might be ONE of the three types recommended; but the condition will require rather a combination of all of these - as we have indicated.

20. (Q) Any special suggestions as to the osteopathic treatments? (A) Just so there is kept to each center the coordination between the activities of the alimentary canal, the respiratory system, the circulatory system and the activities of the kidneys.

21. (Q) What further information will aid Dr. Thos. Russell to bring the patient back to normal? (A) As indicated, we find that these are the sources of this: One, the injection for a preventative - the other for the destruction; and these taken in the system produces this character of disturbance as indicated.

Then, working along the lines as given, we find that the better help may be brought for this body, [1534].

22. (Q) Will the body respond quickly to the suggested treatment? (A) Not necessarily QUICKLY, but POSITIVELY - if all the administrations are made in the manner indicated.

R1. 2/18/38 Mr. [1534]‘s brother had his secretary write to EC asking for a physical reading appointment for their sister. EC replied sending membership application and suggesting that the sister’s consent and cooperation be obtained.

R2. 3/26/38 Brother’s letter to EC:

Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.,

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Have talked with Mr. [257] to-day with reference to my brother’s condition and at his suggestion, I am writing you.

Have been very much impressed with your advice and have finally convinced the doctors to agree to your treatment.

My brother is now at home and is receiving electric treatment together with other medical aids, and he seems to be coming along very slowly and his condition is not very encouraging.

I would appreciate a further reading from you so that the doctors will be better able to handle his condition, as changes have occurred which we are muchly concerned about.

Both Mr. [1113] and Mr. [1120] are very happy to learn that we are following your advice.

You mentioned injections and re-actions that my brother received in the past, and if it is at all possible to learn when, where and by whom these were administered, we should like to know.

We are in need of some quick advice and I trust you will be able to give same immediately. Please send mail to me at my office, address above, and mail copy to Mr. [257] with whom I am in constant touch.
