[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [1541] and Mrs. [1523].]
Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Virginia.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions she has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mrs. [1541]; this we have had before.
-
Conditions in many directions show improvement, as we find them.
-
In the present, as we find, there needs to be greater precaution and activity towards keeping a balance between the upper and lower hepatic circulation. This is to create a balance by the producing of a balance between the activities of the liver and the organs of assimilation, - as with the eliminating system, - and a balance in the activity upon the blood stream, by a better activity of the kidneys and the eliminations as produced through same.
-
These as we find for the body in the present might better be attained or gained through diet AND the activities as would create a better or more normal balance.
-
First, to reduce the tendency or inclination for the spleen and pancreas activity, we would use the Jerusalem artichoke in the diet at least twice a week, - but this cooked. This is for the activity of the production of sugar which is inclined to be produced by the activity of this glandular force with the system. Not a great quantity at the time, but twice each week; not overcooked, not undercooked.
-
And once each week, for the activities of the kidneys and for the effect that same would produce upon the whole of the system as related to the blood stream, take about two ounces of Watermelon Seed Tea as a drink. This would be a teaspoonful of crushed watermelon seed in two and a half ounces of water; this allowed to steep or brew as tea. A little may be added to or taken from in the amount this would make. Drink this during the day; not necessarily all at once, but in two or three periods - but during the one day each week.
-
This - with then the general diet of those things which will create a better balance - will make for the better conditions in the system.
-
Occasionally we would have a thorough massage with the osteopathic movements ESPECIALLY from the lower lumbar to the dorsal or upper dorsal and cervical; THEN the coordinating of the cervical areas through the vagus center. This would relieve the pressure and the tendencies for the activities that bedrug, in a manner, the functioning of the organs that need the stimulation.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Have osteopathic treatments been properly given? (A) These are very well, but - as indicated - through those periods when there are the activities of the properties indicated to be taken occasionally, once in two weeks or once in ten day - have the TYPE of osteopathic adjustment as just indicated. Rather than beginning upward and coming down, begin with the lower lumbar, or the lumbar axis, and work upward.
-
(Q) About how many osteopathic treatments would be suggested? (A) Ten. But let these cover a period of several months, to be sure as has been indicated.
-
(Q) What local treatment can be used to aid healing of leg? (A) For this portion of the activity we find that the Iodex or a combination of such astringents would be found to be the better.
-
(Q) What causes the burning with use of last ointment suggested? (A) This is a strong astringent and causes at times too great an irritation - especially when the body stands on the feet too much.
-
(Q) Then you would advise using just the plain Iodex? (A) Use the plain Iodex.
-
(Q) What antiseptic wash would be suggested, if any? (A) Bichloride, but not too much of same. Weak solution of same.
-
(Q) About what proportions for this condition? (A) About a quarter of a tablet of the ordinary size in a pint of water.
-
(Q) Would sclerosing of the vein be advised? (A) Let’s change the circulatory forces first before such would be undertaken, because unless the condition of the blood is better this would be rather more harmful than helpful.
-
(Q) Would X-Ray treatment be advised for the condition on leg? (A) Let’s change the condition which supplies to the circulatory forces, and we will find the effect of these properties will do this. You see, the one is the basic insulin, while the basis or active principle of the other is nitre. Each of these will act upon the system in a manner to purify the blood stream.
THEN there may be the better effect by local applications.
-
(Q) Is the girdle support necessary any longer? (A) As we find it is best that this be kept.
-
(Q) Is the girdle now used correct? (A) This is very well, just so it is adjusted to be a little more comfortable.
-
(Q) What causes soreness in right elbow, and what can be done to heal same? (A) This is the effect of the circulation CARRYING the properties that should be eliminated through the normal channels. And with the use of the properties indicated, it should GRADUALLY disappear.
If the condition becomes so severe, local applications of a saturated solution of Epsom Salts in Packs would be helpful - HOT.
-
(Q) Any further advice for the body at this time? (A) These as we find would be the active influences as better to indicate bettered conditions for the body in the present.
-
We are through with this Reading.
