1. EC: We have the body here, [155]. Now, we find there are abnormal conditions with the physical forces of this body. These, we find, may be corrected and brought to a near normal condition. These have to do with the functioning of the glands of the body, particularly of the thyroids and the general effect as is produced in the system from this condition; creating in the system, as it does, an excess of forces gathered in and about the regions of the thyroid, producing a plethora in same; it being (that is, the condition) of the single lobular character.

2. In the effects produced, we have a tendency towards anemia, a quickened pulsation of the circulation, and at PRESENT conditions of congestion in head and soft tissues of face and nostril.

3. In the general debilitation, these have not as yet come to such an excess as to take the whole vitality of the system; PRODUCING, however, a nervous reaction through the system that makes for irritation, especially at the regular periods, which are sometimes scant and at others excessive.

4. In the corrective measures, then, for the body - we would find that an excess even of iodine for the system, with the drainages set up in body, would make for the stopping of condition and of the gradual absorption of same, provided the drainages are kept in COORDINATIONS in system and the stimuli of the general forces kept in a HEALTHY, nominal manner.

5. We would take same into the system in the form of specific doses of iodized calcium or salt. This we would take in three to five grains of iodized salt three times each day. It may be taken dry and rinsed or swallowed with a little water.

6. We would also make those vibrations for the body of the Radio-Active Appliance that carries iodine into the system, making the battery charge either from crushed ice or snow. Snow or shaved ice would be the better, carrying more of those forms of an active principle for the system; though this will make for a tendency of shortened breath, these may be overcome most by the body taking a SPECIFIC exercise, with a thorough RUB along the spine - especially in the cervical and dorsal regions. Would be well, however, for this to extend to the whole length of the spine.

7. The exercise would be that of a regular setting-up exercise. In THIS manner would we give same:

When body has prepared for retiring, or dressed for the exercise - begin with that of raising self on toes (barefooted) and then stooping as low as the body can; this with the body remaining on the toes. Do this for at least ten up and down movements, and then standing flat on floor, bend the body forward to where the palms or fingertips may touch the floor; this slowly, but at least ten times. Then standing flat, with the arms raised above head, stoop at least ten times. Then holding hands on hips, circulate the upper portion of body, each side, at least five times.

9. After same, take a thorough rub with a coarse cloth or towel along the spine, from head to central portion of the back, until the flesh is aglow. Then from the whole LENGTH of the spine - head to the base of spine - at least five or six such rubs, not to IRRITATE the flesh, as to cause too much trouble, but to STIMULATE the circulation throughout the physical forces of the body.

10. We would be mindful of the diet, that there are not too much of food values that haven’t an especial amount of the iodide salt in same. Not too much meats, but more fruits and vegetables. Let the meat as taken be of WILD game.

11. Well, too, were there - at least twice each week - the use of the Violet Ray - the throat applicator - along the BACK of the neck; not over the engorgement or goitre itself proper, but from the centers of the 5th cervical - or just above where the shoulder blades cross - to the base of the head.

12. This we will find, with persistency and consistency, will be beneficial, keeping the condition in abeyance and gradually absorbing same.

13. Take the vibrations of the Radio-Active Appliance each evening, at least one hour, attaching these to - the first to the ankle, the larger anode to the 2nd cervical, or just below the axis of the head; that anode, the one last attached, held in place by adhesive or tape, passes through the medicated forces for the body.

B1. 10/27/30 Husband requested a reading for her after EC’s visit in their home while on a hunting trip in Maine with Dr. L. A. Lydic. EC had offered her the reading without charge, so he apparently knew about her physical problem. Her husband wrote: “She has filled in the membership blank and is mailing it today.
