[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.J.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
Now as we find, conditions are continuing to be on the improve in a general manner. While periods occur when the body appears to lapse into the general indifference, and resistance to much that has been at times a helpful force towards the body, - we find that this arises most from the attitudes of those making the applications; that is, too much as rote, and this reflects itself in the sensitiveness of the body and mind of the entity, in that it at times builds resistances.
-
Make such applications more as not merely something to be gotten through with, but more as a part of entertainment to the body, as well as having the body enter into the treatments with more the air of expectancy. This should be the attitude on the part of each one making the applications.
-
And if we will release more of the muscular forces about the end of the spine, and as related to just below the kidney area, we will find a much better response in the applications used towards the eliminations.
-
We would continue the use of the Packs when necessary, as well as the enemas, for the eliminations must be kept a bit above the normal.
-
Change to the Senna Tea occasionally, and the laxatives that combine the phenolphthalein with same will be found to be most helpful.
-
But this air or attitude as indicated, that must be held by all making administrations for the body, will have more to do with the reactions, and be more beneficial for the conditions of the body, than the rest of the things combined.
-
Keep consistently and persistently those applications that have been last indicated, and we will find conditions will continue to improve.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Are we taking care of the constipation properly? (A) As indicated, there will be the necessity at times for the use of those properties in their forms of varied nature and administrations under different circumstances as arise, for the better improvement in this direction.
-
(Q) Are the kidneys better? (A) As we find, while not at all times, with the change in the manipulations as indicated, - not above that ordinarily indicated for such, but the stimulations of the areas just below same, that make for the better connection with the activities through the muscles and nerve forces and impulses to the flow of the tubes from the kidneys to the bladder and their activity, - we will find a better reaction.
Keep plenty of water for the system, of course, at all times.
- (Q) Are we carrying out instructions in the Readings properly in all things? (A) As indicated, with these variations as outlined, and the keeping in line with the suggestions in a persistent and consistent manner, we will find better conditions.
Be persistent also in the tuning or the assimilating from the system through the properties indicated for the helpful forces in nerve tissue building, - the Gold.
- We are through with this Reading.

R1. 1/25/40 EC’s letter to Mrs. […]:
Dear Mrs. […] [Daughter]:
Trust the information for your Mother proves helpful at this time, and that you soon see a great deal of improvement again.
Can’t help but marvel at the information at time - rarely if ever deviates from the first pronouncement, regards a persons condition same as they come about - yet can offer so many devious ways from reaching a conclusion, still holding the same principal.
At time wish I was like that when am normally supposed to be awake or would it be a good thing.
Get so fed up with myself at times - wonder what it is all about but am sure you don’t care for my taking it out on you
- but some how am sure you quite understand, having had so much to think of in trying to do the best for your Mother in so many ways.
Trust you have not been as severely shut in by the bad weather as we have here - thought we lived in a pretty nice climate - but something must have slipped some where all over the country.
With love and regards from all to you and yours,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
