This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of April, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1576], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. […] [brother-in-law of Mr. [1425]].

Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Illinois. (Physical Suggestion - body keeping appointment at …, New York City.)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, Miss [1576].

2. Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions which prevent the normal activity in the physical forces.

3. These as we find at times become very aggravating and cause a great deal of anxiety to the mental and to the physical forces.

4. And, unless corrected, we find that these will continue and may work to a great handicap to the better activities of the body.

5. These as we find primarily arise from glandular disturbance, as related to the eliminations in the system.

6. Then, these are disturbances as we find them with this body, Miss [1576] we are speaking of:

IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find that the indications here are that, in those periods when there were the changes of the activities through the whole of the developing system, there were not those precautions taken as to the diet - nor all of the precautions that should have been taken as to the regulating of the Periods - or the menses.

8. These then, through the repressions produced in the system, have affected the glandular system; so that there is incoordination between the eliminating systems.

9. Thus we find much of the poisons, that SHOULD be eliminated through the alimentary canal and the respiratory system, and even in the activities of the organs of the body - as the kidneys and the like, are finding an outlet through producing a disturbing influence through the perspiratory system.

10. Hence we have the abrasions on portions of the body; as well as very disturbing to the body on the face and neck.

11. The effects of all of these, then, as we find, are shown in the blood stream.

12. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, here also we find the effects shown, through the anxieties as produced - and those disturbances that arise from the repressions which have been existent in the system at the Periods.

13. All of these then become a part of the disturbing activity.

14. IN THE ORGANS OF THE BODY, or the general system:

15. We find these are very good. Of course, as indicated, there is a lack of the proper eliminations through the alimentary canal.

16. And these poisons, with the general conditions - that is, the repressions, and the activities of the acne - produce or form at times almost a rash that becomes an irritation to the whole of the bodily forces themselves.

17. THEN, IN MAKING THE CORRECTIONS, THAT WE MAY ELIMINATE THESE DISTURBING FORCES FROM THE SYSTEM:

18. We find that if the proper precautions are taken these disturbances may be eliminated without leaving pits or scars upon any portion of the system.

19. Also with these corrections we should find more regularity and less disturbing activities at the Periods.

20. These then, as we find, are the manners in which to begin:

21. First, there must be the general and specific precautions as to the diet, as to the eliminations.

22. We would begin then with the taking of Yeast as a part of the diet. Take at least one or two Yeast cakes each day for a period of a week to ten days. Then leave them off for a week, and then begin again. Keep this up (the period of taking, and the period of leaving off) until the rest of the applications have been carried out as we will give here, and even after that until there is the full correction of the eliminations through the alimentary canal - and regular periods for the activities from the alimentary canal.

23. Also we would begin with some adjustments, osteopathically given, more specifically in the lumbar, the coccyx AND in the upper dorsal and cervical area. Do not neglect those in the coccyx and the lumbar area; these should be given at least every other period of the treatments.

24. Take these adjustments twice a week for a period of three to four weeks; then leave off for a period of ten days.

25. And DURING that ten-day rest period from the manipulations (NOT before), take the Diathermy - the deep therapy - about three times during the ten days, see?

26. Then have another series of the manipulations, twice a week for two to four weeks.

27. And then have another series of the Diathermy treatments.

28. As to precautions in the diet, do not let self become one that can’t eat this, can’t eat that, but just be mindful that THESE are kept out of the system - not a part of the diet:

29. Do not eat white bread, nor large quantities of starches, ever. When potatoes are taken, eat meat WITH same - but never any fried foods. The meat preferably would be roast beef, lamb, fowl and fish. Plenty of fish. At times these have disagreed with the body, but with all of these suggestions heeded - with the corrections, and only when they are roasted or boiled or broiled - we will find they will be agreeable for the body.

30. Eat plenty of green vegetables, plenty especially of celery and lettuce.

31. Occasionally, when tomatoes or strawberries are taken, there will be required a small quantity of a digestant. Hence, whenever there is a fullness in the abdomen after eating, take a small quantity of Alcaroid.

32. Drink plenty of water at all times.

33. When there is a disturbance at the Periods, rest - and take the vibrations of the Radio-Active Appliance; the attachments, for this particular condition, being the one plate (the plate from the anode always first attached) to the 4th lumbar, the other (the plate always last attached) at the pubic plexus. This kept attached for an hour at a time will aid in relieving the disturbances in this direction.

34. Ready for questions.

35. (Q) Any local application for the face? (A) Only as we find the precaution to use the Cuticura Soap AND Ointment; this to prevent breaking or scratching too much, see?

If the other eliminating influences are taken, the deep therapy and the manipulations, these conditions WILL be cleared.

Dear Miss [1576]

Am in hopes you find the information interesting and worthwhile. Feel sure if you will have the suggestions applied in your case you will get results. Know will be glad to hear from you, and can we be of a help in any way will be happy to do so.

Miss [1576] had a very unusual experience with your reading. Will it be out of the way to ask that you send me a Kodak picture of you full length. Had the impression of seeing you very plainly - would like to verify this experience if you be so kind as to do this will appreciate it.

B1. 4/16/38 EC’s ltr. to HLC: ”…Having some funny experiences of late - now and then - for instance had application from a Miss [1576], received just the blank and the money - couldn’t make out even where it was from when first looked at it yesterday - then this morning as was writing her to make an appointment - had an impression or saw her just as plain as ever saw any one - am going to ask her to send me her picture

• want to know if I really saw her. Will write the description of her, of course, now; did not see what was wrong with her, just saw what she looked like. [1425] of Cincinnati suggested she write or it is so indicated on her blank - never met [1425] and this is the 6th [person] he has had write since he had his own [1425-1 on 8/20/37] and has never said what he got out of his. He [[1425]‘s brother-in-law] is a Dr. naturopath, I believe. Interesting, ain’t it?”

B2. 4/18/38 Miss [1576] submitted questions: “What is the cause and the best treatment to cure the skin infection I have? Will it come back once it leaves? How long will it take to cure it? and will my face be scarred from it?”
