This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of May, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self, through Mme. [1554], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 4:25 to 4:45 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Calif. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have those conditions which as we find disturb, or prevent a nearer normal activity of this body.

  2. These in activity we find arising from the formation of lesions in centers and areas from which the locomotories receive their impulse. And these have in a manner become stationary, or set.

  3. So, there would be required a great deal of persistence, and consistent activity, to bring any great relief to the body - or for the body to be able to be ACTIVE sufficiently to make locomotion or activity other than a great strain on the body.

  4. Then, as we find:

  5. We would prepare a compound to be massaged into the body; prepared in this quantity, or these proportions:

  6. To 1/2 gallon of Pure Gasoline - not colored, not too HIGHLY distilled, but of the regular run - add, in the order named:

Camphor Gum…1 dram, (stir until dissolved) Oil of Cedar Wood…1 ounce, Oil of Pine Needles…1 ounce.

Shake the Camphor Gum in the Gasoline until dissolved, then add the others in the order named.

  1. When the massage is to be given, shake the mixture well and massage especially along the cerebrospinal system through the sacral, through the dorsal and to at least the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cervical; or upward, not downward so much; in a circular motion along either side of the cerebrospinal system. Do this once each day for five days, then leave off two days, the begin again - each day. Continue in this manner for five days, resting two days, until the whole quantity is used. Massage each time just what the body will absorb.

  2. Also during the same period it would be well that the lower limbs, and especially in the emunctory circulation on the UPPER limbs, be massaged with an equal combination of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh. Heat the Oil to add the Myrrh. Massage not only into the muscular forces but the centers; as under knees and the plexus along the sciatic and the feet and limbs, lower limbs; then particularly under the arm, you see; down the side of the UPPER portion. These areas, of course, are not to be massaged with the Gasoline compound which is to be used in the spinal rub.

  3. When the Gasoline Compound has been used - the quantity indicated, then we would leave off same and begin (not before) with the low electrical vibration from a Wet Cell Appliance. This Appliance would be used in such a way that through the assimilation there would be carried those vibrations of Gold into the system, in such measures or quantities, or at such a rate of vibration, that there is a stimulation to the nerve forces themselves. Thus when it has been used for at least a period of twenty-eight to thirty days, the massage that would FOLLOW would be of the nature that there would be carried to those portions of a STRUCTURAL body, as WELL as to the muscular forces - that have been so disturbed - the vibrations and the activity as to renew and stimulate action for the body.

  4. The application of the Appliance, then, would be in this manner:

  5. The smaller plate would be attached first, to the LUMBAR axis; while the larger plate - through which the Chloride of Gold Solution passes - would be attached last, to the lacteal duct and the areas from which the assimilating system receives its impulse for activity to the gall duct, the spleen AND the pancreas; or in the area about four fingers toward the right side from the umbilicus plexus or center.

  6. These attachments would be made each day for thirty minutes, and for a period of twenty-eight days. (They would NOT be given, of course, at the same time the Rubs are given, but AFTER the rubs have been completed - as indicated.)

  7. The proportions of the Gold Solution would be two grains of the Chloride of Gold dissolved in an ounce of Distilled Water.

  8. When this Appliance has been used as indicated for the twenty-eight days, then we would give further instructions.

  9. In the matter of the diet and the activities and the mental forces about the body:

  10. Keep the activities in a CONSTRUCTIVE way, as for the mental.

  11. As to the diets, keep those foods that are easily assimilated and that are body, blood and nerve building.

  12. Do these, then, for the present.

  13. Ready for questions.

  14. (Q) Will body be restored to normal through these treatments? (A) Near to normal. As has been indicated, this will depend upon the persistency and consistency of the activities in regard to the administrations in the manner indicated.

  15. We are through for the present.
