This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of June, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1609], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Hugh Lynn Cayce at N. Y. meeting on 23rd.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 11:20 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, Mr. [1609].

  2. Now as we find, there are PHYSICAL conditions that cause not only physical reactions that produce the incapacity for the body to function through normal ways and manners physically, but react in a detrimental manner upon the mental reactions of the body in its relationships to self and conditions about same.

  3. These then are the conditions physical and mental as we find them with this body.

  4. And as we find, if there will be a consistent and persistent application of those things as may be here indicated, there should be very SOON what might be termed a “snapping out” of the whole condition.

  5. In the physical forces of the body:

  6. We find in the blood supply a tendency towards anemia; of the nature as produced by a disturbance in the physical assimilation as well as in the mental and nervous reaction to same.

  7. These as we find arise from toxic forces produced throughout the alimentary canal, especially arising from an injury or pressure upon the coccyx and sacral plexus; or through the ileum plexus, as associated with the activity of the caecum AND the emptying of the jejunum to the colon area.

  8. Hence we find inclinations. These adhere, and then they break loose. These produce adhering tissue in the right portion of the body about the area, tending to make for dis-coordination - rather than in-coordination - between the mental reactions and the impulses; by the pressures produced upon the brush end of the cerebrospinal nerve system through the areas indicated as to the pressure IN the spinal column and the sympathetic nerve system - as they coordinate through those connections in the 4th lumbar axis.

  9. Thus in the mental reactions from same we find at times the indication of lapses of the impulse; and the body remains rather in that mood of living in or reacting to old surroundings. Or there is the inclination to pity self, and to desire or wish for or dwell upon things that had to do with FORMER conditions in the system; without looking toward future activities or impulses.

  10. Hence, without these being broken up, these will tend towards a softening - or the reactions of the impulses will be to more and more lapse in this manner; more and more melancholy, more and more reactions to the whole nervous system.

  11. These in the physical forces of the body now, we find, react upon the assimilating - as indicated; and there is a tendency for constipation, the upsetting of the digestive forces as related to liver activities; irregularity in the circulation between liver, heart, kidneys. Of course, the lung forces become involved; the greater activity at times being with the anemic condition, or the lack of sufficient blood pressure and blood activity through the system.

  12. As we find, then, to bring about these changes:

  13. First, under the direction of Dr. Miller, we would have these applications:

  14. We would first use the heavy Castor Oil Packs, very hot (and best that these be made at her office); across the liver, the caecum and the lower portion of the abdomen on the right side. These should be kept on for thirty minutes to an hour, each evening, for at least three or four days.

  15. After these are given, and the body sponged off (with soda water), we would have the gentle manipulations through the whole of the area; that is, the liver, the caecum; and the CORRECTIONS - GENTLY - in the lumbar and sacral and through the coccyx area; GENTLY coordinating the rest of the cerebrospinal system with same, see?

  16. Also - AFTER these adhesions, or tendencies - have been broken up - we would have very low electrical vibrations, or the LOW vibrations from a static machine - which she has, see?

  17. Then as to the diet, we would be guided by the blood reactions - as would be taken by her AS the treatments are administered.

  18. Do these and we should find, within two to three weeks, a CHANGED body - entirely!

  19. As we find, a change of scene for a while would be MOST beneficial, but not until AFTER there is the breaking up of the physical forces and a reaction MENTALLY that would be more in a coordinated manner.

  20. Well that suggestions be given by one administering these (or Dr. Miller), for CONSTRUCTIVE forces throughout.

  21. Do that.

  22. Ready for questions.

  23. (Q) What is the seat of my trouble? (A) This has just been given.

  24. (Q) Has my condition anything to do with my eyes? (A) ALL of it has an effect upon the system, as indicated.

  25. (Q) Should I continue wearing glasses? If so, should they be changed? (A) Not changed until after the treatments and the applications for the whole of the condition, as has been indicated. Then it may be necessary to change glasses, if the body is to be in the open a great deal.

  26. (Q) Anything wrong with my throat? Why do I not speak distinctly? (A) The whole pressure upon the cerebrospinal system as associated with the whole nervous forces of the body. All of these reactions as we find will be MATERIALLY corrected by the physical and the electrical applications as indicated.

  27. (Q) Can you give me any advice regarding sex functions? (A) These had best be the REGULAR development through correcting those conditions physical and mental in the system.

  28. (Q) What kind of work am I really cut out for? (A) BEST to get the physical body in the correct conditions, and then there may be an ATTITUDE so different that these would be only confusing in the present.

Do these things as indicated.

Not wise to return to Germany as yet. It would be wise to go west for a period.

  1. We are through for the present.
