This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of February, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Dr. [1613], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, Dr. [1613].

3. As we find, there are rather the acute conditions; arising from superacidity as combined with the high nervous state of the body following the attempt to dilate or to cleanse the urethra to the bladder (and this is also a part of the cause).

4. We find that this has caused a disturbance in the prostate. This is the greater disturbance as we find now.

5. And we should use the hot applications as may be had through the applicator of the Elliott Machine, or such type of machine, so that the hot water may be put in and taken out, - or to increase the temperature there, to allay the inflammation. This should be used at least every day for two or three days, and then every other day for twice the number of treatments, and then farther apart if the condition is allayed.

6. Also we would use a small quantity occasionally (about twice a week, or perhaps oftener) of Watermelon Seed Tea, as a purifier for the activities of the bladder and kidneys as related to the reduction of the uric acid in the system. This would be prepared by pouring a pint of boiling water over a teaspoonful of crushed watermelon seed and allowing it to steep as tea. Drink this within two days, dividing it into equal quantities. And then after two or three days, repeat this, see?

7. Alkalize the system by the use more of fruit juices.

8. Do these, if we would bring the better conditions for this body, Dr. [1613].

9. Ready for questions.

10. (Q) Is there a growth of any kind? (A) As we find, it is only irritation in the present. Do not have more probing, or metal contacts; else it MAY be made a growth.

11. We are through for the present.

R1. 2/28/40 Letter: “I thank you very much for your prompt reply of the rdg. and your expert diagnosis. You are positively a human x-ray. I am feeling better, in fact I have been all right right along, of course quite uncomfortable, but I have been on my feet right along, working.

“I am enclosing herewith a check and I shall get in touch with your son in a few days. I want to send him a check for the campaign and also want to promise him more as the time goes on.”

R2. 5/17/40 Letter to HLC: “Accept my thanks for your kind ltr. of May 8th - I am feeling much better, thank you, and I shall do my best to be at Va. Beach the 21st of June. I know it will be a very interesting Congress and I’m looking forward to meeting people interested along that line.

“I shall be glad to speak about the observations on the cases you have sent me.

“I plan to leave the evening of June 20th arriving at Va. Beach June 21st at 10 a.m. - I probably shall not be able to stay more than two days.” With best wishes…

R3. 1/42 Note to EC: “Your letter of Jan. 8 received. Yes Mr. Cayce, I shall be glad to set aside a time each day in prayer for Divine guidance what ever you suggest.” Faithfully yours…

B1. 2/20/40 “I have trouble with my bladder and I would like to know if it is due to enlarged prostate gland or a growth or injury from an instrument inserted two months ago to dilate the neck of the bladder. I am anxious to have the reading as soon as convenient to you before I consult a specialist.”
