This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 13th day of June, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1615], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by his brother, Dr. […], and Mr. Hugh Lynn Cayce.

Time of Reading 4:00 to 4:10 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Virginia. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, Mr. [1615].

2. Now as we find, the disturbing conditions with this body are rather of the specific nature; and have been and are rather a gradual development.

3. We find that there may be material aid and relief given, if there will be the CONSISTENT application of those corrective forces and influences that may bring about the change in the reactions in this body.

4. These as we find are the disturbing conditions:

5. In times back there has been an injury to the coccyx end of the cerebrospinal system; and the nerves there have been impinged in such a manner that they react upon the sympathetic AND the cerebrospinal system as to cause a spasmodic reaction - where another pressure has gradually been increased in the secondary cardiac plexus area.

6. Hence we have to the circulation the effects; at times the circulatory forces from the heart to the liver, at others from the lungs to the heart. These vary, as to the cycle of the reaction.

7. As we find, the GENERAL system is very well in most conditions; save the activity upon the IMPULSES of the natural reactions in the sympathetic system.

8. Then, in making applications that we find would be the more beneficial, the more helpful - and if PROPERLY and correctly done should bring relief and help for this body:

9. First there would be the necessity of relaxing the areas through the sacral and coccyx area with Wet Heat; then gradually raise the coccyx so that the pressure is taken off of same.

10. At the same time that such applications are given, we would gradually correct the subluxation that exists between the 4th and 5th dorsal centers.

11. Each day, for at least thirty minutes, preferably of evening, apply the activities from the Radio-Active Appliance.

12. These we would keep up in series of two to three weeks; or three weeks, rest a week; and then another three weeks, rest a week, and then another two weeks.

13. By that time we should have such relief and such corrections as to alleviate this spasmodic reaction between the organic reaction of the organs and the heart’s activity itself; produced by the lack of the GOVERNING of same through the coordination in the reactions of the sympathetic and cerebrospinal system, as directed from those centers indicated.

14. Ready for questions.

15. (Q) What doctor in … would you recommend to give these treatments? (A) Those who are at the head of the Osteopathic profession.

16. (Q) Should the wet heat be also applied to the dorsal area before corrections are made? (A) This would be well, but it is not near so necessary AS in the coccyx area.

17. (Q) What was the nature of the injury that caused this condition in the coccyx? (A) As we find, it was a minor injury in the beginning; and then some treatments and applications for some other disturbance in the area brought on a greater contraction.

Do these things as indicated.

18. (Q) Should the Radio-Active Appliance also be discontinued during the rest period from the other applications? (A) It should be discontinued with the rest as indicated, else we would have given that it should be continued regularly.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Thank you for the copy of the report on my brother, [1615]. I feel very sure that this information will enable him to have this condition corrected and I know he will follow the instructions.

I also wish to thank you for sending Mr. [1561] to see me regarding his mother-in-law [1553]. I have already seen her twice, and, while it is too soon to get much reaction, she does seem a little better. I will keep you advised as to her progress.

I am very interested in your father’s work and hope to be able to cooperate with you in a number of cases.

I am having an old friend of mine, H. H. Rubin, M.D., send you a copy of his latest book entitled “The Glands of Life” which I thought you might be intereseted in reading. The next time you are in New York, I should like to have you meet Dr. Rubin as he is very interested in psychic matters.

Thank you for your invitation and I should like nothing better than to be able to take advantage of it, but I don’t see any possibility of my being able to get away at that time, however the very first opportunity I get, I shall certainly run down there and see you and meet your father.

R2. 8/24/38 Brother’s letter:

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the very accurate diagnosis you made for my brother, [1615]. A great many physicians failed to make a correct one and he was growing steadily worse until you found the true cause and suggested the method to have it corrected. I am happy to report that he is now practically well and you have not only my thanks and gratitude, but that of his entire family. I shall be more than glad to refer anyone to you who may need your services.

R3. 12/2/38 HLC’s letter to GD:

”…Dr. […]‘s brother in … died suddenly. Soon as you have time send […] in N.Y. copy of that reading of his, as want him to check with autopsy performed…”

R4. 3/1/43 Dr. […] and wife of [1615] were enthusiastic about the book, THERE IS A RIVER. He referred several people to EC for readings.

R5. 1/28/64 GD’s note: HLC does not remember calling on Mr. [1615]. At the time he must have known what Mr. [1615]‘s symptoms were, or how he was affected, but he has no recolleciton of the case now, and there is no reference in Mr. [1615]‘s file to symptoms other than those mentioned in the reading.
