This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his friend”s home, Mr. David E. Kahn, 20 Woods Lane, Scarsdale, N.Y., this 12th day of November, 1940, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1646], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 10:30 to 10:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Pa.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, Mr. [1646]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, many changes in the physical forces of the body have come about since last we had same here; many for improvements in some directions, some not so well.
-
In the present we find there is an unbalanced condition in the chemical reactions through the system, because of unbalanced chemical activity in the assimilating forces of the body.
-
This has produced in the hepatic or liver circulation those conditions that should have been eliminated. These being carried through the system have tended to segregate themselves in portions of the system where irritations or weaknesses have caused the taking hold, as it were; as indicated in portions of the glandular AND the superficial circulation in arm pits.
-
These as we find should have local attention, and not to be allowed to continue without taking precautions as respecting same.
-
There needs to be a GENERAL application for the corrective measures as regards this balancing through the system of chemical forces, as to cause reactions in the hepatics that may eliminate the sources of disturbance, as well as the specific and local attention which would be given for those disturbances indicated.
-
These applications for such corrective measures, as we find, should be of two natures, - to better cause to be eliminated the constitutional or the general functioning conditions as related to activities of the eliminating system, and supply the energizing influences to create - in the blood supply and in that assimilated - the proper balance for creating the normal, cooperative forces through the activities of the bodily forces themselves.
-
Then, we would first give that there be prepared a compound in this manner:
Sulphur…1 level tablespoonful, Rochelle Salts…1 level tablespoonful, Cream of Tartar…1 level tablespoonful.
Mix these ingredients thoroughly; best that this be done with mortar and pestle, as to cause the properties to intermingle in the mixing.
-
Take a level teaspoonful of this mixture or compound each morning for five days; then leave it off a like length of time, then take again. Keep it up regularly, in this manner.
-
Precautions in some directions should be taken while this compound is being taken, - as to not getting damp or the feet wet, etc.
-
Also we would have specific adjustments, osteopathically administered, for stimulating centers and areas in the cerebrospinal system that control the impulses for activities to those portions of the disturbed system.
-
These would be made with special reference to those conditions which will be found to exist, of a tautness as well as some pressures indicated in the dorsal areas, - from the 9th to, of course, the first cervicals; especially, though, the corrections in the upper dorsal and coordinating those areas - or removing tension - in the dorsal AND cervical area.
-
As to the number of these, - we would continue them until, with the properties taken for the correcting of this strained condition, there is a more equalized condition, less dizziness of morning, and a little better appetite.
-
The local applications for the condition, - these had best be administered by a physician, - the one who also may administer the osteopathic adjustments, of course; so as to cause this segregation to be brought to a head in a manner that it may be removed and prevented from affecting the bodily activities.
-
Throughout the period of taking the properties indicated, as well as osteopathic manipulations, - keep in the diet only those things that are the more easily assimilated.
-
No heavy meats, to be sure, at any time; but vegetables - these well prepared or cooked; and the juices of fruits, - plenty of fruits and the like.
-
Do these.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) To what extent is the condition significant of a more general state throughout the whole body? (A) As indicated, there is an unbalanced condition of a general nature, which through irritation has settled or segregated.
All of these conditions are taken into consideration in that indicated, - not only for the eliminating of the acute disturbance but as to the correction of the condition in the general system that is the source; for the local condition is the product of the general condition.
And these combinations of treatments followed in the manners indicated should eliminate these disturbances.
Keep the mental attitudes for better creative and constructive influence; these, to be sure, materially aid in keeping the better coordinations towards assimilation and eliminations; for, the Mind is the Builder.
- We are through for the present.

R1. 11/21/40 [1646]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I thank you for your reading. It orders that the osteopathic treatments be kept up until there is a “less dizziness of morning and a little better appetite”. That is interesting for I do not suffer from dizziness in the morning or at any other time and I always have the best of appetites.
Thank you for the excellent review of my book. I would be interested to know how many Bulletins you send out? In other words I wonder how many people may have read the review. The price of the book is
1.50 cloth and1.00 paper bound. With all good wishes.R2. 11/27/40 Dr. Whitebread’s letter to EC:

Dear Sir:
Mr. [1646] came to my office last week for examination and treatment. He, knowing of my interest in spiritualistic matters and of my investigations, showed me your reading on his condition. I want to inform you that osteopathically I found the conditions which you mentioned in the reading. I did not use the reading as the basis of my examination but rather compared it afterwards.
I am very much interested in your work and, having contacted the spirit world and things spiritual for some time, I can appreciate the great work you are doing. My own ambition in life is simply to do God’s work here on earth in helping others get rid of physical ills imaginary or real.
I have several cases that would do well to have your readings but frankly I can’t at present afford to send $20. However should you ever come to Philadelphia, I should be pleased to meet you and talk with you. Also I am at your service at any time to help anyone whom you may feel directed to send me.
Yours very truly, Floyd Whitebread

Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
For your files you may be interested to know that for some years, perhaps 20, I have had a small lump under my right arm, in the armpit. I assumed it was a harmless growth of a gland or something of that nature. This past Fall it has been growing larger and I thought it would be interesting to get a report from your operators on the other side to see what they thought of it. I did not get very much satisfaction from the reading but I went to a surgeon here in Phila. and he said it was entirely harmless and did not need operating unless I wanted it removed. However I thought I would follow your directions in regard to treatment of my general condition to see what might result. So far I do not notice any change. Dr. Whitebread, my osteopathic physician, thinks the lump has grown smaller. I am not sure. What I am interested in is knowing how long I should follow your directions. I suppose that could only be determined by a check-up reading. The recommendations of your reading said the treatment should assist my appetite and the dizziness in the head. As I have always had an excellent appetite and no dizziness I am at a loss to know what the reading refers to!
R4. 12/24/40 EC’s letter to [1646]:
Dear Mr. [1646]
Thanks for yours of the 17th - the report is quite interesting from many angles - will be glad to try and check up on the conditions asking if we may just why some of the information was give - in view of what you tell me it should be very interesting.
The Secy. [GD] is taking a vacation [the rest of] this year and will not be back until about the 1st week in Jan. We can make the appointment for the morning of the 6th - 10.30 to 11.30 E.S.T. if that will be satisfactory - please give the address you will be at that time if the time is satisfactory
- and might not it be interesting to have Dr Whitebread ask a few questions also.
Thanking you and sincerely hoping to be the means of a real service
Sincerely Edgar Cayce
