This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of August, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1652], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by her aunt, Mrs. [1446].

Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Virginia. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, Miss [1652], present in this room.

2. Now as we find, there are specific disturbances that have prevented the normal activity of functionings of the organs of the body; and thus - through the long standing - these have produced rather a complication.

3. Yet, if there will be the corrections made of the specific disturbances, and then the vibratory forces of the body set as it were in unison one portion of the system with another, we find that we may bring near to normal conditions for this body.

4. These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, Miss [1652] present in this room:

5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find there is a form of anemia. While there is the attempt of the blood stream and the assimilating system to create a balance, we find that the great strain upon not only the nervous system but the organs in eliminations at Periods causes a great disturbance in this direction.

6. These conditions of themselves would be corrected, with the changes as may be wrought in the system - in the greater portion, as we find.

7. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, here we find the cause, or the basic conditions - as happened with the body BEFORE even there began the menstrual periods.

8. This as we find was an injury to the coccyx and lumbar area; and through these inflections of impulses through the nervous system we find that almost from the beginning of the menstrual periods there have been brought the disturbing conditions at such times.

9. Then, through the activities that have been attempted to correct the position of the organs through the pelvis and through the activities to the body, there has been formed scar tissue in a great way and manner; so that AT the Periods when there are the activities of the body through the attempts for elimination, a great disturbance is brought - even to the circulatory forces, even to the digestive forces; the severe headaches that at times occur with these, the conditions across the small of the back, and even extending at some times to the lower limbs.

10. All of these as we find are reflexes, or the attempt of the body to adjust itself to the improper conditions and improper relationships of the ORGANS OF THE PELVIS with the activities of the glandular forces of the body.

11. And through same the ORGANIC reaction of the kidneys, the bladder, as well as the assimilating and digestive system is affected.

12. AS WE FIND, THEN, IN MAKING THE CORRECTIONS, all of these must be taken into consideration.

13. First we would have the correction of the positions, or conditions where the basic trouble has existed and does exist, in the coccyx and the sacral or ileum plexus. While some attempt has been made to correct the position of the organs, we find that this may be best done OSTEOPATHICALLY. We would raise the coccyx, and remove the pressure.

14. Have such osteopathic treatments twice each week; one to be a GENERAL treatment, the other to be a SPECIFIC treatment for making the corrections to remove the pressure. Continue in this manner until ten or twelve such treatments have been taken.

15. After twelve to fourteen such adjustments, we would REST from these for a period of a whole month; and THEN it will be necessary to have ANOTHER series of such treatments.

16. Also we would begin, at the same time the osteopathic adjustments are begun, to use the Violet Ray with the Vaginal Applicator; using a very small applicator, that there may not be too great a stress put upon the organs of the pelvis through the vibratory forces that are set. Use this each day for a minute and a half to two minutes. This would be used throughout the whole period of treatment, except during those periods of the menstrual flow.

17. As to the matter of exercises and activities of the body, we find that the diet should be nourishing yet of those foods that are easily assimilated. These as we find will naturally change as conditions change or are altered in the bodily forces themselves; but keep rather an alkalinity.

18. Owing to the necessity of the system to absorb the scar tissue through the change of vibration and change of the impulses, through the removing of pressures along those specific areas as indicated, there will be the tendency for the accumulation of drosses or excess eliminations that must be cared for.

19. Hence those inclinations to become acid, as are at times the effect of the general condition of the body in the present.

20. During the month rest period from the osteopathic adjustments, we would use the Radio-Active Appliance; but use it a little bit differently from that ordinarily indicated. Rather than making the attachments to the extremities, we would make the first attachment to the 9th dorsal and the second or last plate to the pubic plexus. Be sure to use the same plate each time; that is, have the anode marked - the one from which the plate is attached first; so that each time the same plate is attached first, and the same plate attached last, see?

21. Use the Radio-Active Appliance regularly, then, after the completion of the first series of osteopathic adjustments. However, if there is pain at the Periods, use same for thirty minutes to an hour - it will be most helpful to the body, used as indicated - for it will relieve the tension and the disturbances through overflow or lack of activities.

22. Do these and, as we find, we will bring the better conditions for this body, Miss [1652].

23. Ready for questions.

24. (Q) What is the most serious ailment of the body? (A) The curvature of the bone in the area indicated. This is the most serious disturbance, though the effects that have been PRODUCED by same have often been mistaken for the disturbing condition.

25. (Q) Of what nature was the injury that produced this condition? (A) A fall or an injury in some manner to the coccyx.

26. (Q) About how long before the body should be able to marry? (A) By the time the second or third series of adjustments osteopathically are made.

27. (Q) Will the body ever be well again? (A) If the body will do these things as suggested, it would be well again.

Do these things.

R1. History of case, given after 1652-1: Been treated by Dr. C. J. Andrews [gynecologist] off and on for over a year; started with flooding which lasted several weeks; now he says she has a cyst in the side and he wants to operate and burn it out with electric needles, etc. She remembered having a chair pulled out from under her just as she went to sit down in it, when she was 12, 13 or 14 years old - that maybe when the injury occurred.

R2. 8/2/38 GD’s note: First on the program is to take the Sheet of Directions to Dr. M. L. Richardson and begin the osteopathic treatments twice a week as indicated.

Next, take Mrs. [1446]‘s violet ray down town and buy a vaginal applicator for it. If the vaginal applicator comes in different sizes, get a SMALL applicator. I think you can get the applicators at any place where Violet Rays are sold; such as Burrow-Martin, Peoples, or any of the electrical places. I think Mrs. Jane Williams at Goodman Electric Co. on Bank St. would be glad to help you. She is a member of one of our Groups and would be glad to get it for you, even if they don’t carry it in the store. Show her this notation and I’m sure she will tell you where to get it, or get it for you - remember to try to get a SMALL Vaginal Applicator if you can.

Then you begin this Violet Ray treatment each day as indicated, from the very beginning - as soon as you obtain the Applicator.

Am enclosing an Alkalin-Reacting Diet list to help you in keeping an alkalinity, as suggested. There is also indicated that eliminations must be kept up, through the diet - which would be the alkalin-reacting and laxative foods - especially throughout the period when the violet ray vibrations and the osteopathic treatments would work together to THROW OFF the accumulations from scar tissue (or the cyst, as you say the doctors call it). Hence, although the reading didn’t mention specifically to do this, you should keep the eliminations open - even if it is necessary to use enemas; but the proper diet should help most in this respect.

When you have had the twelve to fourteen osteopathic treatments - which should take you into the last of September, if you begin treatments the week of August 14th - then you will start on the month of leaving off the osteopathic treatments. This means that by the first of October you would begin using the Radio-Active Appliance. However, the Reading indicates that it would be well for you to use the Appliance even before then, AT the menstrual Periods. When that time comes that you need to use it, get Dr. Richardson to mark the 9th dorsal for you, where the first plate is to be attached. Also I would suggest that you bring the Appliance down here and let us exchange the small plates for some big plates, as they will be more suitable for such attachments suggested for you. Then when you’re through with the Appliance and ready to give it back to [667], we can change the plates again for you - back to the small ones. I’m enclosing an article explaining the theory of this Appliance, as you may be interested to read it.

PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS CAREFULLY

(1) In your opinion did the analysis of the Reading cover the condition? Yes. I know it did.

(2) Give symptoms of condition described correctly? Conditions due to fall when I was a child.

(3) What was the physician’s analysis of this condition? Female trouble.

(4) Have the suggestions given in the Reading been followed exactly as outlined? As far as it was possible for me.

(5) For how long? Twice a week for 2 months.

(6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted? Saw much improvement as long as I kept treatments up. But could not stay off my feet and could not afford any more osteopathic treatments.

(7) Comment. Have had a terrible operation since then. Nerves all to pieces. Will send in contribution from W.P.A. check.
