-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, especially with reference to result of recent operation for rectal troubles. You will give the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief for this body. Then you will answer the questions that may be asked, as I ask them.
-
EC: (In locating the place - “366 Emerson Place - Some place!”)
-
Yes, we have the body, Mr. [1656].
-
Now as we find, in special reference to the recent operations, in the main the healings are very satisfactory. We will give the associations with these with the general conditions.
-
We find that for some times back there has been a subluxation that has caused a great deal of disturbance to the digestive and eliminating systems.
-
And while the operative forces have removed the effects that have been produced (and from this particular condition, if there are the proper precautions taken, we should not have any more trouble in that direction), we find that the cause of the disturbance has not been removed.
-
And without the removal of the cause of the disturbance there will be other conditions, and the tendency for an irritation and for greater disturbance at times with the eliminations as related to alimentary canal.
-
These then are conditions as we find them with this body, Mr. [1656].
-
The blood supply indicates the disturbance which has existed from time to time in the eliminations as well as in the digestive or assimilating system.
-
And we have a strain, of course - the natural result, though, of the system not responding very well in the creating of sufficient of the coagulative or leucocyte forces for the proper healings in the system.
-
But this is due to pressures that exist in the system, from nerve impulse forces through the coccyx and lumbar axis and last of the dorsal segments; which cause disturbance to the conditions in the lower portion of the colon and the rectal area. However, the sphincter centers that have been disturbed are in very good condition.
-
As we find, this will require osteopathic adjustments that would correct the subluxations in the lumbar and sacral area, as well as in the last dorsal area.
-
Also it will be necessary that precautions be taken as to the diets for the building up of the body, as well as precautions in those directions that there is not an irritation created in the rectal area while there is this soreness and inclination for inflammatory forces in the system itself.
-
As we find, then, in making suggestions for the corrective measures for this body:
-
First, be as quiet as possible and OFF OF THE FEET at least for rest periods a great deal, until the conditions have improved quite a bit, see?
-
Then beware of any fats, or of red meats, or ANYTHING that would carry alcohol as a content. While alcohol is necessary in the system, we find that the system SHOULD be able through the proper dietetics to produce that necessary for its own activities. No fried foods. Take a great deal, though, of meat JUICES - but not so much the broths; rather the JUICES; as the Beef Juice, as broiled liver two or three times a week. These will add to the abilities of the blood stream as well as the activities of the assimilating system, in making for better conditions through that building - which is needed for resistance in the general system. Have one meal a day, or a part of one meal at least, of raw vegetables. A great deal of nuts and fruits should be a part of the diet each day. Meats - take only fish, fowl or lamb.
-
Take the precautions as indicated regarding the rectal area, to prevent irritation. As an eliminant we would take such as Russian White Oil or Usoline.
-
And occasionally use a little Oil in an enema, so that there is the inclination for a perfect relaxation of the whole of the lower colon area. There has been an inclination for a prolapsus of the descending colon, but with the manipulative forces osteopathically, and keeping the colon cleansed occasionally, there should be a correction in these directions - especially with the irritations removed from the rectal area.
-
The osteopathic adjustments or manipulations would be especially to correct the coccyx, the sacral plexus - or lumbar and sacral plexus, and the 12th dorsal - or 11th and 12th dorsal. We would have these about twice a week, and at least for six to twelve treatments, see? depending upon the response the body makes to the aligning of the segments of the lower portion of the spine.
-
These as we find, if they are adhered to, should make the proper corrections and bring about a much nearer to normal condition for this body, Mr. [1656].
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What can I do to keep the eliminations from irritating the rectum? (A) As indicated, use the Oil, see? taken internally; and occasionally an Oil injection.
-
(Q) What is the condition of the digestive system? (A) As indicated, this has been upset; and with the osteopathic corrections, and with the correcting of the diet in those directions for the building up of resistance, we should find a great improvement in the general system.
Do that.
- We are through for the present.

P.O. Box …
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Was pleased to have your letter of Aug. 11th.
My reading was received before [470] left here for Detroit so he was able to go over it with me. You outlined my condition perfectly and I surely hope that, in time, the application of your suggestions will correct the cause of my trouble. In fact believe that I notice an improvement during the past several days.

Association of Research and Enlightenment, Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Sirs;
Enclosed you will find my application for a physical reading. As this is my first experience of this nature would like to have a complete check up of the physical system and, if possible, would like to go into details of the digestive system and the rectal area.
The following are a few questions that I would like to have answered;
Are the scars of the recent operation [hemorrhoidectomy] for rectal troubles healing properly? What can I do to keep the eliminations from irritating the rectum? Any particular instructions in regard to the diet? Also, if during the reading, you find that there are questions should be asked that would help me to follow the instructions or understand them more fully will you see that they are asked?
Would like to get this reading as soon as possible as I would like Mr. [470] to help interpret the reading and he expects to leave here Aug. 14th.
My home address is …, Ohio, and I will be there whenever you set the time for the reading.
Very truly yours, [1656]
