This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of April, 1929, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1690].
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 4:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ky. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body [1690] here - this we have had before. Now, we find many changed conditions with the physical forces. Some are not so well as when we had them before. The general physical forces are under nerve strain, due to the age and the conditions as are taking place with the body, as well as that of overtaxation in the physical way and manner.
-
These may be assisted in the functioning, but will require that not so much taxation - at least for a time - be adhered to, as well as that as may bring better conditions for the body.
-
Prepare, then, as this:
-
To 6 ounces of simple syrup, add:
Tincture Valerian…1 ounce, Elixir Calisaya…2 ounces, Iodide of Potassium, 10% solution…28 drops, Bromide of Potassium, 10% solution…60 drops, Tincture of Capsici…2 minims, Oil of Sassafras…20 minims.
Shake solution well together before the dose is taken. Take half a teaspoonful every three hours until there is thorough relaxation from the medicinal properties.
-
Do not eat hog meat. Only those of the JUICES of meats are better for the body. Much of those vegetables that build iron, and are nerve stimulants. These will aid the body.
-
Also there should be a thorough relaxation of the body osteopathically, at least once each week.
-
Do that. We will bring bettered conditions for this body, [1690].
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 4/21/29 Mrs. [1690]‘s ltr. to EC:
Dear Cousin Edgar:
I received your letter and the reading Friday and thank you so much. I started taking the medicine same day and will start the treatments to-morrow. I thought I was in serious condition and was desperate when I wrote you for the reading but glad to say that I have improved a great deal since then and am sure after taking your treatment I will be myself again. I will also try to rest more and not overtax myself as I have been doing in the past.
R2. 5/25/29 Mrs. [1690]‘s ltr. to EC:
Dear Cousin Edgar:
I received the letter signed by Miss Atkinson, inquiring the results obtained from my diagnosis.
I took the medicine suggested, and am following diet outlined, and when I wrote you, I thought I would be able to take Osteopathic treatments but am not able to take them now on account of finances. […] [Husband] rubs my spine and back sometimes as Dr. Reynolds had told him to do before I received the diagnosis, I think I rest my body more but not as much as I should I’m afraid. However I am SO MUCH better now and hope I am over the worst of my trouble. I do appreciate your sincere interest and kindness to me and will let you hear again from me. Wishing you every success and with love to all the folks, I am,
Sincerely, [1690]

B2. 3/20/29 Mrs. [1690]‘s ltr. to EC:
Dear Cousin Edgar:
Since you were here, I have almost had a nervous breakdown, and under terrible mental strain for no special reason that I know of. I had the Dr. twice and he said he could do nothing, that I would have to control myself and get my mind off of myself or I would loose my reasoning power, now I am asking your help again. Would it be possible for you to read my case. I am so depressed at times, do appreciate so much what you have done for me and hope to be able sometime to send you some money. We are struggling along so now. Let me hear from you soon please. [1690]
