GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of the body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1700], we have had this in various ways before.
-
As we find, there are those tendencies and those disturbances which may become very serious to the better welfare physically of this body, unless something is done about same. These, as we find, are of a complex nature. There has been continued for some periods the effects of a flu germ. These have caused through the lymph circulation, as through lungs, nasal passages, abdominal areas, the reduction in the numbers of the leucocytes of the body. These have allowed soft tissue to become lacking in resilience or vitality in same, and hence the tendencies for the palate of the mouth to produce irritation, and there has been brought about a bronchial and a lung disturbance.
-
First, in making applications for helpfulness: In the crown of the head pull up a tuft of hair, tied tight until it kind of hurts, but keep it there for at least two or three days; not a great quantity, but right in the center, the top of the head.
-
Begin and give the body gentle osteopathic adjustments with special reference to the brachial centers, with the 3rd cervical, 9th dorsal and throughout the lumbar and sacral areas. Give them every other day, a gentle relaxing treatment; not stimulating, but relaxing.
-
Begin and take internally Acigest each day for at least five days, leave off then for a week, and then begin and take every other day a teaspoonful in a glass of raw milk, or that which is homogenized. This preferably should be as fresh as possible, even with the heat of the animal in same would be the more preferable. Take this of evening, at the evening meal.
-
During the noon meal, or lunch meal, take a small amount of Calcios, a quantity thinly spread on a whole wheat wafer.
-
Do these as has been indicated. Take the Calcios and Acigest on separate days, see? But in the beginning, see, first five days take them the same day, each day. But one at the noon meal, the other at the evening meal.
-
Keep in the open, though not too much of the sun in the midday, see? Do that.
-
We will find better conditions for this body.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 6/20/44 Mother [4245]‘s letter: “Many thanks for your prompt reading on [1700]. We have started on your recommendations. Have had difficulty in tying a tuft in the crown of his hair, as his hair is short, but we did the best we could and hope it will have the desired effect. [1700] is taking osteopathic adjustments as per your recommendations, every other day - that is, 3 times a week. Please advise how long these trs. are to continue, and how often. The osteopath is Dr. Lawrence S. Meyran, 445 N. Rodeo Dr., Beverly Hills, Calif. I have ordered the Calcios and Acigest as they are not available here. In taking the Acigest for the first 5 days, should it be taken in milk? This paragraph is not quite clear. Thank you again.”
R2. 7/3/44 EC wrote advising about 16-18 osteopathic trs., a rest period of some weeks, then another series, saying: “I hope you will have no trouble in getting the Calcios and Acigest. This seems to be one of the best trs. suggested for the after effects of colds and congestions. The rdgs. have given it quite often where there have been very severe cases of throat and lung trouble.”
R3. 8/13/48 Mother [4245]‘s reply to Questionnaire: “[1700]‘s chief complaint was a severe cough, which doctors said was due to an allergy; that he would outgrow it. He grew worse daily. Coughed steadily and was generally debilitated. In June 1944 he felt ill, when he returned to Calif. from a 4-months’ stay in Miami Beach where he went to recover from a cough and chest congestion. Cough had been constant, but not severe, since preceding winter. The Edgar Cayce reading said the condition was an aftermath of flu, which he had the preceding winter. We followed the treatments prescribed in the reading and he has been in perfect health ever since.”

Background
B1. 6/8/44 Mother [4245] wrote: “You will no doubt recall that I am [437]‘s sister and have received Life Readings for my son [1700] and daughter [1701] in 1938. I am now in need of, and would very much appreciate a rdg. for [1700], this time a Health Reading (knowing how very busy you are at this time)
- as he has just returned from a 4 months stay in Miami Beach where he went to recover from a cough and chest congestion. He has not improved at all - in fact, he complains that his chest feels heavier than ever, and his cough is bothering him. He seems to have no energy at all and not much interest in his normal activities. He was 17 yrs. old on 4/1/44.”
