This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce, in Selma, Alabama, this 5th day of June, 1917, in accordance with request made by the parents, Mrs. [522] and Mr. [2698].

1. EC: We have had this body before, [No copy of earlier readings in E.C.F. files] there is a good deal of difference now in the body than what we found before. Growth and development has been normal. These are the conditions we find in the body now: There is really more blood in the body than it uses, hence a free disposition of cold or congestion from the conditions in the stomach and intestines and the nervous system of the body. There is a predisposition of the stomach trouble as before. There is a disposition to hold when it should be more laxative through the body. Too much blood causes trouble in throat and larynx and upper part of throat nostrils. We find many different kinds of bacilli than is in a normal body that has been taken into the blood. To reduce or correct these conditions, give into the system, soda - saleratus, bicarbonate of soda, or carbinate [carbonate] of soda in a very weak form to reproduce more saline to carry off feces through the intestines. Manipulation along the throat to reduce condition; along cervicals to carry off by absorption inflammation that gathers from time to time in tonsils and thyroids. Owing to nervous condition and blood supply best not to operate now. No operation is necessary now; the body will stand an operation but the shock will not be good for it, and will take a long time to recover. Treatment as stated will assist the body to absorb conditions.

2. (Q) Do you find germs indicating whooping cough? (A) We find the bacilli, but not prevalent enough to produce it, because warriors are there to fight it.

To assist there should be given intestinal wash like Glyco-Thymoline by eliminating them, 5 to 15 drops a day. The doctor we have here will understand giving soda and will give it. If this is followed the body will be better. There is a free condition of cold by condition of the blood. This treatment will be better than taking medicine on account of the condition of the body. There is too much blood to the head and throat. Cold produces temperature, though not very much temperature now, 99 8/10.
