This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 14th day of July, 1930, in accordance with request made by his aunt, Mrs. [2708].

1. EC: We have the entity here, and those relations with the universe and universal forces, as are latent and exhibited in the present entity.

2. In entering, astrologically, we find many influences that are builded as personalities in the entity, coming as a spiritual gift to those that, in the varying conditions materially arising, bring for that of wonderment, yet in the happenings and contentment that is BEYOND expression in word. Then, the entity is EVER the dreamer, and the doer. Keeping the physical fit will be the greater BURDEN to bear, until the entity has passed the sixteenth year. During the twelfth, be mindful of a fever, and especially of the throat and head.

3. In the astrological aspects - through Mercury comes those influences for the mental, and of the ethereal mindedness of the entity. In Venus comes those of the love and tenderness as is innate in the entity, and as finds expression through those things as have to do with individual, and individual’s association. In that in Jupiter, brings for those bignesses of the influence, even in those of the development or developing period.

4. One that finds attractions for many. Hence, in the development - and in the developing period - must be that training as of the correct value and criterion of judgments, keeping the IDEAL - as is of the spiritual aspects - before the entity in its development.

5. In the fields of the arts will be the natural channel of the entity, covering those both of the mental and the love influence, as WELL as the variedness of vision as IS had, as is DREAMED of, as may be developed in the entity.

Not weighting the mind with the MYSTERIES, or of mystic influence - for the tendencies will ever be in THAT direction, but rather in that as is had in those of the Uranian, that brings for the centralizing in those of the occult, when studied from the MENTAL forces in life, in nature; remembering that the MIND is the builder, but - spiritually guided - builds for the understanding, and MENTALLY - in the material forces - brings for distress, or in-action in vigor of the strength.

6. In those influences as are seen in the appearances of the entity: These, as we find, may be altered much, as the astrological influences bring in the experience OF the entity WILL, that factor which may be trained, even as the mental forces, and WILL, that developer in the material force, being the balance between influences, as to those innately built or those of that karmic influence that makes for the FREEDOM of the mental being; for in Truth one finds freedom, for he that findeth the Truth is free indeed. Hamper not by “Don’ts”, but give rather rise to that of being up and doing, for the BUSY mind finds the greater development. In DOING comes understanding. “Be ye doers and not hearers only.”

7. In the appearance before this we find in that land known as the French, in the period when the Louis’s were in power. The entity then one of the children of the daughter of Louis the 15th, and brought TO self much of that spiritual influence, in the name Louis. In the influences as seen in the present, that of the ability innately and mentally to cope with situations of whatever nature; yet often the tiredness of body comes from that early demise.

8. In the one before this we find in that land known as the Arabian, when Uhjltd, in the leader, carried those of the household in the land. The entity then the younger brother to the leader, and gained in that experience through those influences as were brought during that period. In the name Ujladi-Elei. In the present, much of that as of the leader is the influence as will be had through the experiences of the period, as will bring for influencing those in the opposite sex. THIS, well guarded, may make for that of the development. This, unguarded, may make for those influences as bring for trouble and consternation; yet a DEVELOPMENT, in a manner.

9. In the one before this we find in that land known as the Egyptian. The entity then in the household of the priest, and of those that waited on the companion of the priest. In the name Is-Eli. In this experience the entity rose to power, position, place, fame, through the experiences in that period, as related to the various manners of expression of praise in music, in art, and ESPECIALLY in that of placing of stones. In the present, the innate desire to feel precious stones, to compare same, to watch the change in the color in same, is seen from THIS experience. These will make for much JUDGMENT to the entity, and the beryl and scarab should be a portion of the entity’s dress, EVER; either worn as the amulet, the ring, or such, will make for a safety in the entity’s present experience.

10. In the one before this we find in that land known as the Poseidan. In THIS experience, the entity in power - through the ability of applying mechanical forces to those as would float, for the connections between the various peoples of that age, being among the first to apply that known as the perfect helm, and in the name Eloi. In this experience the entity gained and lost. Gained THROUGH the application of self’s service to the aid of others; LOSING in the gormandizing of selfish interests to the influence held OVER others.

11. In the abilities in the present, and that to which it, the entity, may attain:

12. Be mindful of those warnings during those periods as given. Keep in the thought of that training as may bring for the understanding, first of self and self’s relationship TO the Whole; knowing that in whom the entity may build is found an expression of self, in the talents used to express that concept of the relationship to the Whole, with an eye-single for service to the fellow man, that the glory of the Kingdom may shine THROUGH and be the reflection of that worshipped. In music, in mosaic art, or in that of the builder, may the ENTITY accomplish most in this experience. Ready for questions.

13. (Q) What can be done to better his physical condition? (A) Build for that of more red blood in the physical body.

14. (Q) Is the school he is now attending the proper one? (A) For the present, but change in two years.

15. (Q) Where must he be sent then? (A) There is a school in the vicinity of New Haven, or between New Haven and New York - boys’ school - that would be well. There is also one in the SURROUNDING vicinity that would be well to consider.

16. (Q) Does that mean surrounding vicinity of Virginia Beach or New York? (A) Virginia Beach.

17. (Q) Is the environment of the home life right for him? (A) Very good, and one that makes for much of the sentiment side of self; yet DEPENDENCE will grow more when there is more of the PHYSICAL developments.

18. (Q) Is there any change coming, through death, that would affect his environment? (A) Not, as we find, at present, in the very near future.

19. (Q) Is there any other advice? (A) Make first for the physical, that the mental and spiritual may manifest the more; for much has the entity meant to the various sources through which the environment and the innate influences act, and much may the entity accomplish for self, for others, through this present experience. We are through.

Mr. [1719] New York City, N.Y.

Dear Mr. [1719]

The Association for Research & Enlightenment is compiling the information given in the readings relating to gems and stones for Mr. Green, [Stephen N. Green] a gem collector, who is sponsoring this study. We would like to make as complete a report as possible so are asking you to bring us up to date on your case.

Your life reading given July 1930 [1719-1] said you would have a special feeling for stones and find them helpful. Also that you should ‘wear, ever, a beryl or scarab which would make for safety in the entity’s present experience.’

Will you please tell us whether or not you have worn either of these stones and if you have noted any special effect? Do you have a special fondness for stones? We will appreciate as exact and detailed information as you can give us. Is the effect beneficial; either mentally, physically or spiritually? Have you felt any particular protection or have you had any special experience while wearing the stone or stones? Do you feel the stone improves your general physical condition or gives you a feeling of ‘well being’? Do you notice the effect immediately or does this build up or increase? If you can give any other details we will be very grateful?

As you know the names of individuals do not appear on information sent out from the Association. Names are still held strictly confidential, only excerpts from the readings are used. We are therefore asking now whether or not you would object to Mr. Green having your name for any future correspondence on this subject?

Since the time we can devote to this study is very limited will you be good enough to send us a prompt reply? Please accept our thanks now for this information. You will probably see the results of this study in a bulletin later.

R2. 9/15/76 [1719] wrote requesting copy of [2708], his mother’s reading, if she had one. Instead, sent him a copy of his own reading, which he did not know he had with the price of readings. Hope to have a response answering questions re relatives as well as himself who had readings from Mr. Cayce.

R3. 9/21/76 Letter received from [1719]:

“In reviewing the life reading, it is quite clear that [2708] was primarily interested in my health and early development and that Edgar Cayce placed his primary emphasis on these matters. Thus, it seems proper to first assess the reading on this basis. The reading states that during the twelfth year to be mindful of a fever of the throat and head. Actually I had a severe sore throat with ear involvement which culminated in a mastoid operation during my thirteenth year. It is also true that from my sixteenth year through college my health was excellent. The comment on page 3 [1719-1, Par. 5] about tiring seems valid.

“Turning to those predictions which bear on my interests, I am able to see only a vague relation between them and the reading. The reading implies that the arts including music and mosaic art will be a natural channel. I have no known musical skills and know nothing of mosaic art except like many people I do appreciate good music and art. The reading also implies that I am drawn toward precious stones. I am not aware of this. I own no jewelry nor do I have any desire to own any. The reading is closer when it mentions the builder, since I have spent all my adult life as a chemical engineer and now work as assistant general manager of the engineering department of one of the large international oil companies. I am quite interested in the mathematical aspects of fluid dynamics. In summary it would seem that my present skills and aptitudes are related to the Atlantis reincarnation and that the skills credited to the Egyptian reincarnation are dormant.

“With regard to the answers to the questions:

1-A [Par. 13-A] Seems correct.

2-A [Par. 14-A] Seems correct. I had an excellent learning situation, however, the change in two years was to Arizona and not to the places suggested. The change ended in near catastrophe with the mastoid operation.

5-A [Par. 17-A] Seems correct. In retrospect the environment was almost perfect from a developmental standpoint.

6-A [Par. 18-A] Appears to inquire whether my grandparents would die soon and thus affect me. I was living with them during the school year. My grandfather was in his early eighties and my grandmother was almost eighty. In each case their ultimate death did not affect my environment since I was living away at school at the time.”
