This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of May, 1931, in accordance with request made the by self - Mrs. [1733], through Mr. [257] and her brother-in-law, Mr. [1734].

1. GC: You will have [1733], …, New York City, Apt. … You will have her associates and associations and advise her physically, mentally and materially. You will answer the questions now, as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, associates, associations of the body.

3. In the physical there are many conditions that would be benefited by attention to same, and through the corrections would bring a more normal physical and mental, and physical-mental reaction for the body. These, as we find, have to do with specific conditions as come from impingements or subligations [subluxations?] in the cerebro-spinal system. They affect the sensory system, the nervous system, and the digestive system at times. These, as we find, with a general manipulation taken for sufficient time to not only release but to replenish or rebuild the centers through the upper dorsal and cervical region. Would be well were specific exercises taken by a general masseuse or massage AND correction through the whole of the upper dorsal and cervical system, with a low form of electrical forces as may be had in the violet ray; with occasional eliminations through the high colonics - these would make for a much bettered physical condition.

4. In the MENTAL body, and those associations and relations - these, as we find, bring many questions to the body that at times are hard to be answered. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) What specific exercises should body take? (A) Best would be those as would be given by the massage or the masseur, and the physical corrections in the cerebro-spinal system for general elimination for the sensory organism - the ears, the eyes and the nose; and for the eliminations as indicated through the colonics, for the carrying off of drosses in system.

6. (Q) How often should colonics be given? (A) About once each month for three or four months.

7. (Q) How often should the violet ray be given? (A) About twice each week. Only when there has been a CORRECTION in the dorsal and cervical. These should be about twice each week, while the general massage and exercise with same would be at least once each week, or three times each month for three or four months.

8. (Q) Should body consider and consummate a marriage in 1931 for herself? (A) That may be considered; circumstances and conditions as surround the body in its present ATTITUDE, in its present desire, apparently that would make for better associations, better affiliations for the body. If so desired, then do so!

9. (Q) Which man is best suited for her among her attentive admirers? (A) That she should be able to choose for herself, rather than be chosen! Choose for self among those! Those that, as the entity knows, are for the interests of ALL concerned; that is, one that is not looking FOR an easy position, or place, or surroundings; one that is not to be benefited wholly, but that may be of benefit to the body IN its associations and its relations!

10. (Q) Why has Dr. […] not proposed marriage? (A) For there’s been the inclination or the tendency for the body to still be undecided as to whether this is the proper time, the proper conditions, the proper surroundings; and there are other things that enter in which would not be well to be given here.

11. (Q) Is Dr. […] the proper mate for the body? (A) The body should decide for itself! Use its mind for SOME directions, at least!

12. (Q) Should body continue to see so much of him, if marriage is not approved? (A) Choose within self! As to what is the desire, as to what are the needs, what the body may give - not what the body may GET! As what the body may give, and what the other HAS to give! or how their relationships would be as congenial for a building for each. Not one wholly dependent upon the other! Not one giving all for such relations or not for such conditions!

13. (Q) Advise body as to advisability of marriage considering her present financial state. (A) These are to be considered, to be sure, from MANY standpoints - and there are those who have charge of the handling of the estate of the body that look with disfavor upon such associations or such connections, especially under the existent circumstances and the periods, and the time, and the conditions. These, of course, looking with disfavor upon, then makes for much of a hardship, by not so much as what is said; rather by what is NOT said.

14. (Q) When will her financial state be such that she can marry? (A) Whenever she so desires! If it is for development, for companionship, for associations, for those things that make for the best in life, this should NOT be a matter of dollars and cents - to be sure; if it is, it will be a failure!

15. (Q) When will be proper time to approach state authorities on sale of …, N.J., property? (A) When there has been with the officials of same a more definite determination of where, how, and WHEN such improvements are to be made that would JUSTIFY the opening of negotiations; but in the present would be the right time to make for the opening of negotiations - but not to PRESS the matter. Do same with the authorities in charge of the handling of the improvements that are being considered.

16. (Q) When and where will the new reservoir be built in New Jersey? (A) Hasn’t been determined yet, not when nor where!

17. (Q) Will [1734]‘s Estate be included? (A) Provided there is the proper conditions set toward, or proper things set out for such to be used.

18. (Q) Advise who is best official to see to get best price. (A) This has been given.

19. (Q) What price should her estate get per acre? (A) That that’s commensurate with the conditions, and that that is in line with a general development for the rest of the holdings and the interest about the whole of the property.

20. (Q) Advise body if it is right to request the executor of Estate to increase allowance to her for children’s living expenses. (A) Under the existing circumstances and surroundings, would it not be better to cut the pattern to the cloth? rather than trying to make or expand upon that that has already been set? True, there are developments, there are needs and necessities, yet each would be MUCH the better were they to meet the emergencies by the applications of their desires, their needs, in an active way to meet the conditions AS they arise; rather than attempting to force an issue to make conditions easier, when they would only be of a very short duration!

21. (Q) Why does the executor, [1734] hesitate to recommend the increase of allowance? (A) Ask [1734]! This has been intimated, as the conditions. Ask, if they would know!

22. (Q) Advise her how to get this increase - (A) We have given it wasn’t best for it! Why would you ask us to say how to get it, then?

23. (Q) Please advise her as to her investments for 1931 and 1932. (A) These, as we find, in many instances almost have already been invested. Many of these are proving unsatisfactory, yet they are not in the position to be made changes in in the present. As conditions are in the present financial status of general investments, NONE are stable - to be sure, save those that are of long standing, of known income, or of those that make for a regular dividend paying. Those that have been invested in such, do not worry about - because they pay some of the dividends they will not go to pot! There are some that have been more of a speculative nature. The present circumstances or present conditions do not justify the disposal of same, or even the altering of same with taking the losses that exist; but when there’s been a more stable condition arise - this, as we find, will be in the latter part of the summer - why then these may be very well.

24. (Q) What will the general business conditions be in June, July and August 1931? (A) Still unstable, as we find. A stabilizing, as has been given, in some respects - that is, not a wholesale decline, yet a general falling off in many directions, especially on specific stocks or specific holdings, but general trend of a tendency towards the whole of that period. We are through for the present.
