GC: You will give the relationship of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1743].
-
In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them, it is well - owing to the very nature of the entity - that some consideration be given as to the source of the information; and as to what is meant by much of the phrasing that is chosen here in giving the interpretations of the records.
-
By records we mean those activities, mental and physical, in the planes of consciousness; that make their impression upon time and space much as light makes its impression upon the same elements or forces or conditions that are called time and space.
-
As this entity is among the Atlanteans, we find that the natural tend or trend of the entity is to be scientific, - as all of those Atlanteans who are to make themselves felt in the affairs of the earth during their activity, some in one direction, some in another. All are more or less inclined to be termed, in the parlance of the day, scientific in their very natures.
-
Hence those thoughts, characters or natures of activity in which there may be an outlet for the expressions of such in the material experience in the present will offer the opportunities for the greater possibilities of development for the entity in the present experience.
-
[Here EC had a coughing spell and said, “We are through for the present.”]

Background
Background
B1. 9/27/38 Mrs. [1472]‘s letter: ”…Now for [1743]. This is a very different story. [1743] is a young astrologist, 28 yrs. of age. Since he was 16 he has been a profound student of astrology, and seems to have the gift of spiritual healing by “laying on of hands”. His life is consecrated to service, and he would be a great light unto the world, I am sure, if he had a little more guidance. This guidance H. L. and I feel he can get through a reading. He has no money except what he earns through writing astrological charts for people. He charges but $10; for these, and seldom does more than 1 a week and has his mother and himself to take care of out of this. They own a home over in N.J. but have no other assets. [1743] is a beautiful spiritual boy. He gives a spiritual interpretation to all his astrological work, often laying aside a chart he is writing to go to sleep for guidance. When he awakens it is with knowledge and information necessary to the work. I want you to know him well, for I feel you will be a great help to him, and will love him also. He did a horoscope for [1151] which is one of the most magnificent documents I ever had the privilege to read. [1151] is very much interested in [1743] and will, I am sure greatly approve a reading for him, although I have not had an opportunity to mention the matter to [1151], as I have not seen him for months. [1743] can arrange this time for a reading for any afternoon…”
B2. 10/12/38 Mrs. [1472]‘s letter: ”…[1743] came over from his home in …, N.J. this afternoon to have a talk with me in preparation for his reading. I am enclosing the questions he wants to ask and his application for the reading - which H. L. signed… I am sure he will be writing you of his great appreciation of the reading. He is certainly set apart for some great work, I feel. He has no interest whatever in girls, or romance, or marriage, and would seem to have renounced personal ambition altogether. I believe the reading he is to have will throw much light on his path and help guide his young footsteps. I offered [1743] the use of my apartment for his reading and will appreciate it if you will write him directly regarding the date of his appointment. As he has chiropractic classes in the mornings it will have to be some afternoon other than a Sat. or Sunday. His address is …, N.J…”
