GC: You will give the physical condition of this body; go over it carefully, examine it thoroughly; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which have been submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, [1790].
-
Now as we find, there are disturbing conditions, and they arise from incoordination; as produced from the lack of that WITHIN the system during the period of pregnancy to carry the full flow of coordination between the lymph and the activity of the sympathetic and cerebrospinal system.
-
Hence in those areas about the assimilating system, without great precautions, we have that breaking of the connection between the active forces of IMPULSE and the ABILITY to carry same out in physical reactions.
-
Thus we have retardments to the development of the coordination in the impulse, and the nerve forces for carrying same out.
-
However, other than the disturbances with the eliminations, we find that the body develops physically.
-
As we find, with CONSISTENCY, there may be help brought; but it will require patience AND persistence in the application of those influences and forces as may bring a better activity in the vibratory forces of the nerve IMPULSES of the body.
-
There must be precautions as to the diet, and the correcting of those subluxations which exist in the lower dorsal, through the lumbar and sacral area.
-
WE would advise a shadowgraph or X-Ray to indicate just THAT portion in the lumbar and sacral that needs correcting.
-
First we would apply the heavy Castor Oil Packs for at least three days, each time before the corrections are attempted. Apply these heavy Castor Oil Packs an hour each day, over the liver and the caecum area, all along the right side; that we may break up those tendencies that cause this incoordination there.
-
Then after each third day of the Oil Packs, leave off the Packs the next day - the fourth day, you see - and have an adjustment made as indicated, in the lower dorsal, through the lumbar and sacral area (having the shadowgraph or X-Ray made to indicate just that portion needing correction, see?). Do not have the Oil Packs on THAT day, you see.
-
Then take the Packs again for three days; and on the fourth day ANOTHER adjustment and a gentle massage.
-
Again the Oil Packs, and then ANOTHER adjustment on the fourth day.
-
After THAT series, begin with the low form of electrical forces where Gold is carried to the system. The connections would be to the 9th dorsal plexus with the small copper plate, and to the umbilicus and lacteal duct plexus with the large nickel plate through which the Gold vibration passes (the solution being in the proportion of one grain Chloride of Gold to each ounce of distilled water). Keep this attached for thirty minutes each day, for a period of twenty-eight days.
-
When the Appliance is begun, we would then have the adjustment once a week - not through the upper portion of the cerebrospinal system, but those areas below the 9th dorsal area - all adjustments, see? That would be once a week for four weeks.
-
Then begin again with the Oil Packs three days, and an adjustment; three days again, and an adjustment; three days, and an adjustment.
-
Then begin with another recharge of the Appliance for thirty days, having the adjustment once each week as indicated.
-
After THAT series we would give further instructions.
-
Ready for questions.
-
We are through for the present.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. […]:
Can well imagine just how anxious you have been about the reading. Trust you have found it not unreasonable - but with a hope that finds some response in the heart of each of you. Know we are anxious to help if possible, but never wish to hold out false hope, but have seen so many cases through the years where, help has come when it has seemed there was no answer.
Will be glad to hear from you and can we be of help at any time, please call on us.
Hoping to have been of a service.
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce

DR. PHILIP P. NOVER [D.D.S.] 260 West 72nd St. New York SUsquehanna 7-6261
My dear Mr. Cayce,
In spite of the fact that I am writing this letter to you for a specific request at this time, I could think of nothing more appropriate for the beginning of the New Year, than to write to you and let you know how much I really do esteem and respect you. After having heard of your miracles for over two years, and then being brought into closer contact with you and your work through the wonderful reading which you gave my friend, Dr. [1758], I feel that it is indeed a privilege and an honor to have met you personally at the meeting in the McAlpin Hotel.
As you may know, I am a friend of the entire family of [257] and also take care of their dental needs. Incidentally, this brings me to the amazing reference of Mrs. [1158] to me for dental services. Mr. [257] told me that Mrs. [1158] had received a reading from you in which she was informed to seek me out for rendering the dental service which you suggested, were necessary for her condition. Needless to say, I am amazed beyond words, at the thought that you were aware of my existence and yet, in view of what has transpired before, I should not be surprised. Suffice it to say, that I am deeply appreciative of your confidence in me, be it a spiritual or material confidence, and I shall not do anything to destroy that confidence.
Now, Mr. Cayce, I would like to ask a favor of you, which I know you will do, if you can. I have brought to the attention of some dear friends of mine, the wonderful healings which you have effected, and persuaded them that they should apply to you for a physical reading on their child [1790]. I am absolutely certain that you can help them where medical science as practiced, has failed.
Will you please give them this reading at the earliest possible time, as they are going away on a trip, and if your reading arrives before they leave on a much needed rest, it will send them away with a great deal of hope. If you will let them know when you can give the reading, they will see to it that the child is at a definite place at the appointed time and will let you know accordingly.
I am also trying to induce several other people to invoke your help, but as you undoubtedly know, the hardest thing in the world is to get people to help themselves, especially when it means having a sincere faith.
I am expectantly awaiting the time when I will be able to have a nice long chat with you personally and even discuss such material things a photography, of which we are both ardent devotees.
With sincere wishes for a most happy, healthy and prosperous New Year to you and yours, I am
Most sincerely, [signed] Philip P. Nover, D.D.S. [P.N./E.F.]
B2. 1/6/39 EC’s ltr. to Dr. Nover:
Dear Dr. Nover;-
Very kind of you to say so many nice things about me. Personally, I do not deserve them - for what comes is of its self - for of myself can do nothing. That help comes with the application of the suggestions is most remarkable and all praise to the source of the information. Am most anxious about Dr. [1758] and hope you will see this is followed up rather closely and other suggestions added as needed, for it may be a long pull but believe he can make it.
Yes - have heard Mr. [257] speak of you, and there is no one I think more of than the [257]‘s - love every one of the family like my own. Was not aware that Mrs. [1158] had been sent to you - but am sure if she comes you will find as lovely person as you will meet in many a moon. Count Mr. [1151] and Mrs. [1158] among my very best friends.
Have and do wonder, Dr., at the information as is given from time to time. As an instance, some months ago was giving a reading for my own son who is in school and it was suggested he use a certain compound as a tonic - giving the name of the people who made this - had never heard of it - and our druggist had no record of such. So wrote the supposedly manufacturers - they sent me compound, but asked how I had heard of same for they had not put it on the market - but were making experiments with same - testing out. How such comes, well I still wonder.
Now as for the reading you asked about. The first open period we have is the afternoon of the 13th if that will be in time - enclosing Blank have the parents fill out and give the address for that afternoon 3.30 to 4.30 E.S.T. Just hope can be of service.
Thanking you for your interest - and trusting may have the opportunity to talk with you soon.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce

Association For Research And Enlightenment, Inc. Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce.
I have your letter of Jan. 7 in which you set the appointment for the reading for our son [1790] for Friday the 13th 3:30 to 4:30 P.M. This time is entirely satisfactory.
Our son will be in the library study room in the Wildwood building of The Woods School located in Langhorne, Pa. (Langhorne is a suburb of Philadelphia).
Mrs. […] and I will be in our home at …, Conn. One of [1790]‘s teachers will be with him during the appointed time and all of us will concentrate on the reading.
There are no specific question I can ask as no cause has been found for the boy’s condition. Of course we want to know what the cause is, how it can be cured, and how long a cure will take.
We are looking forward with great expectation to the results of the reading and will do all we can to assist.
Sincerely
