GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body now called [1791]. (We would keep the name.)
-
As we find, there are general tendencies existent that are preventing the better general physical functioning. And without some measures taken to correct same, these may bring about very aggravated conditions.
-
We find that these in the main arise from poor eliminations, some glandular disturbance, congestion, and the effects these have upon the organs and the blood and nerve supply of the body.
-
Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [1791] we are speaking of:
-
The blood supply indicates a congested condition in the liver and gall duct area. These are inclinations towards gallstones. The duct itself is dilated, but there is the tendency for a sediment that prevents the normal flow of the bile or gall duct activity into the needs of the system in the digesting of foods AND especially of fats and carbohydrates.
-
This condition, as combined with the congestions through the alimentary canal, produces those tendencies for the neuritic rather than rheumatic reactions.
-
While it is true there is some excess at times of uric acid when there are the greater excesses of acidity through the system, the greater disturbance arises to the joints, to the muscular forces of the limbs and to the torso and shoulders; from the pressures in the areas of the colon, especially in the caecum and ascending colon.
-
These indicate also the pressures that are produced upon the nerve systems of the body; producing at times nausea, some inclinations for dyspepsia or lack of proper digestion.
-
The combination with these, to the sensory organism, affects directly the optics - but more the lachrymal ducts; thus an inflammation, rather than an affectation to the optic forces themselves. Hence the socket of the eyeball becomes the more inflamed.
-
The quickness of pulse, the tired feeling, the inability for proper assimilation, all arise from these specific disturbances that are tendencies rather than chronic conditions - as yet.
-
The effects upon the general system, then, are the debilitation, the oft discontent through the mental activities, becoming easily discouraged, with lack of vim or vitality, and the desire for expression or activity with others.
-
As we find, these would be the manners best for correcting these conditions:
-
First, - we would refrain from any rich foods or from very much meats of any character, especially, for a few days.
-
Begin, and in the evenings when ready to retire apply the Castor Oil Packs over the liver and the abdominal area. Use at least three thicknesses of flannel saturated in the hot Castor Oil (not just pouring the oil on same), and apply directly to the skin, covering so as to prevent soiling of linens, with an oilcloth and other cloths. Then apply an electric pad, for at least an hour or hour and a half.
-
Do this at least three evenings in succession, or for an hour and a half each evening for three evenings.
-
On the third evening, following the Pack, take internally two tablespoonsful of Olive Oil.
-
The next day have a thorough hydrotherapy treatment. Begin first with a mild cabinet bath, not raising the temperature too high from the Dry Heat but when the body is just begin- ning to be moist give a Fume Bath with Witchhazel; followed with a thorough rub.
-
Then have a colonic irrigation. Do not attempt to give too thorough a cleansing with the first colonic irrigation, for this would be too severe and might create an ACUTE attack of the gall duct condition.
-
But follow this, the next week, with another of the cabinet Sweats and a Pine Oil rub, or a combination of Pine Oil and Peanut Oil, - NOT an irrigation.
-
Then the next week have another series of the Castor Oil Packs, followed by the Olive Oil internally.
-
THEN have a thorough colonic irrigation, with the whole activities of a general hydrotherapy treatment. Here, this time, the body might rest in the pine water, or such a water treatment.
-
Do these; and after a period of a week or two weeks it may be necessary to repeat the whole procedure.
-
Throughout the period be mindful of the diet; not too severe as to meats, after the first, but plenty of vegetables, vegetable soups; plenty of whole wheat cereals or citrus fruits and the like as the basic diet. Do not have cereals AND citrus fruits at the same meal, however; rather alternate these, changing from one to the other from day to day.
-
Also fish, fowl and eggs may be a part of the diet.
-
No fried foods.
-
Do have a green raw vegetable once each day, AFTER the first colonic irrigation.
-
Do these for the better conditions for this body - at Reilly’s.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What exercises should I do for suppleness and relaxation? (A) Let’s take these AFTER we have had the irrigations and the hydrotherapy. Then these may be suggested best by those who administer the hydrotherapy treatments, for this particular body.
-
(Q) Where shall I go for proper shoes and supports to strengthen my muscles and arches? (A) As we find, these will be parts of the treatments in the hydrotherapy; for the feet, especially. And use a properly fitted arch supporting shoe.
-
(Q) Shall I keep up with the medicines Dr. Winkler gave me for rheumatism? (A) Not if you will take these other treatments as indicated.
-
(Q) How many hours sleep do I need? (A) Eight should be sufficient.
-
(Q) Did the changing of my name in any way affect or change my destiny? (A) Only as the body builds itself. And remember, the mind is the builder.
-
(Q) Should I change back to my old name, [1791]? (A) As indicated, keep that name taken.
-
We are through for the present.

B1. 2/9/42 Extracts from [1791]‘s letters:
“On Jan. 14th, 1939 you gave me a Life Reading under the name [1791] (which should have been [1791]) but I don’t suppose that made much difference.
“I tried to follow the instructions given but not to any great success. I tried every means possible to secure a good position either as file supervisor, telephone operator, receptionist in which lines I have had many years experience, than at your suggestion as saleslady which I am sure I could have done if I could have convinced the people to whom I applied. I tried every agency, channel, paper, friends but to no avail.
“Finally, when my money ran out and I owed several months rent, I went to work as a domestic at a resort farm, with the result that my muscles from running up and down stairs, lifting heavy mattresses and doing heavy laundry work weakened my already weak back, shoulder and arm muscles and tendons and affected my arches so badly that I had to have braces and treatments.
“I stayed there a year, then they couldn’t afford to keep me any more, altho God knows they paid me little enough, so now I am back in New York, since Oct. 1st. I’ve had no better luck in securing a position, for now the agencies claim I’ve been out of the business world too long, so now I work part time as Cashier and part time cleaning work in a Restaurant which just about keeps my body and soul together after I pay for my room. Please do not think that I am complaining against your Reading. I am just giving you an idea as to my state of affairs, the reason I am writing you now is for a “Health Reading,” as I see now I couldn’t hold a decent position due to my general health, muscular aches and pains, fatigue, but especially my feet. I have spent a fortune on them for over a period of 20 years, have gone to numerous doctors, paying as much as
40. a pair for shoes, gone to numerous orthopaedic people and hospitals where not even the 2 head doctors agreed on the same cause and cure. I spend every cent I can get on shoes, wear them a few weeks or months, then have to throw them away and try someone else till I can hardly walk, sit or stand with comfort. In moving around I lost your booklet telling the price of the Rdg. Would you be so kind as to accept5 at first, then $3 each week, until the full amount is paid, - etc?…“I forgot to mention that in my frantic quest for a position with a living wage, I even had my name changed at the suggestion of a numerologist who thought it might help, which it certainly didn’t seem to, so now it is [1791] instead of [1791].”
B2. 2/14/42 “I am arranging to pay a girl to work for me on the date you gave me - Feb. 20, between 3:30 and 4:00 Eastern War Time…
“I was in such great pain that I had to go to a Dr. Winkler, and for the examination I had to pay
5 and3.45 for medicine, so I only had $3 left. I did not know just when you would have time for me, so had to get relief. I will give you the report of his examination. He said the pains in my left shoulder, both arms and left side were neuralgia, a tendency toward rheumatism. The examination showed a very sensitive gall bladder condition and pressure on the appendix. He asked me if I ever had any trouble with my left eye, and I couldn’t remember but I mentioned to him that I had frequent severe headaches and pains in my eyes, but he didn’t say anything to that, then he said I should have my teeth X-rayed as they may have abscesses, but I only have 7 teeth and they don’t bother me, I can’t afford an X-ray just now or an optician. He told me to eliminate pork, eggs, coffee, chocolate, meat, fats, but didn’t me tell what foods to substitute for caloric and vitamin necessity. He also said my feet were flat and I didn’t have the proper shoes, and poor circulation.“So I am giving you the questions. If there is anything else I need to know outside of these questions to attain and maintain a healthy strong body, I will leave it to your discretion.”
