Time of Reading 2709 Lafayette Blvd., 11:05 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Norfolk, Virginia.
-
GC: You will have before you the Radio-Active Appliances, present in this room. Please comment on them, advise if they are correctly made, and give suggestions for betterment.
-
EC: These are inanimate.
-
As we find, these are well constructed, and in keeping with those suggestions made. They are only active, to be sure, when they are connected with a body.
-
It would be well if they were dipped in a paint, or a lacquer, to the distance that the Appliance should be in the ice - whatever color is desirable; any would be well, but blue would be very good, if heavy enough, - and then red from there up.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) How far on the Appliance should the ice come? (A) Within an inch and a half to two inches of the top, just so that should it settle from ice in bottom of container it does not come over top of the Appliance.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 2/14/42 See 1800-34.
R2. 9/24/69 GD’s note: Several people have asked where in the readings it was described how to demagnetize a Radio-Active Appliance. I don’t know. I had thought it was in the [1800] series somewhere. Perhaps the practice of using a magnet was directed to each builder by Edgar Cayce consciously, from early experience with the Appliance before records were kept.
R3. 4/72 Notes to GD by […], doing research in the A.R.E. Library in re the Radio-Active Appliances: “A demagnetization statement is made about Radio-Active Appliance in 1711-4, par. 3, pg. 2 [Par. 9]. See also 2836-2, page 2, par. 1 [Par. 8] saying to ‘demagnetize’, also that ‘The radiation is within the body.’ The A.M.A. can’t look at the Appliance for it. The Appliance just balances it.”
