GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief for this body. You will answer the questions which have been submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes.
-
Now as we find, conditions are fair in this body. While there have been and are some disturbing conditions that have been hindrances, these in the major part have been and are clearing.
-
Yet as we find, if there is a better coordination produced between the cerebrospinal and sympathetic nerve system governing what may be called the inter-relationships of the mental, the physical and the spiritual bodies, we may bring a bettered and a more quiet condition for this body.
-
These then are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1814] we are speaking of:
-
In the blood stream there are indications of the lack of those elements that arise from perfect assimilation. Hence we find also those effects or traces of the influences that have acted as sedatives to the assimilating system. These in a manner account for the lack of that stimuli in the blood force of the body itself.
-
Also in the nervous system we find the body is subnormal in its reactions and refractions. Other times we find a supersensitive reaction.
-
As these are noted as related to the nervous systems, there needs to be better coordination produced between the cerebrospinal and sympathetic systems; in first the upper dorsal, the cervical, 9th dorsal and lumbar axis, relieving a strain which exists upon the coccyx area.
-
This as we find may be more thoroughly accomplished by a series, preferably, of osteopathic adjustments and manipulations. These would be preferably done by one at least in SYMPATHY with such administrations given under directions of such sources as this, see? also that would use, while the body is resting AFTER the treatment, the Radio-Active Appliance. And in this particular case, we would only use this under the direction of the physician, in the office. As there is no charge except the bodily forces themselves, this is to create an equal balance from the vibratory forces of the upper and lower extremities. This would be used for at least thirty minutes to an hour, AFTER each osteopathic treatment given.
-
And these, the osteopathic treatments should be given twice a week for a period first of four weeks; leaving them off then for ten days to two weeks, and then giving them AGAIN for another four weeks.
-
This SHOULD make for sufficient coordination, unless there are other disturbances that arise.
-
The body’s activities should be as much in the open as is practical; ALWAYS, however, in companionship or association with one, or a person or persons, that may be as an aid or stimuli to the activities of the body.
-
In the diets, we find that once a day the meal should consist principally of raw foods. As little of meats as practical for the activities of the body. No fried foods EVER for the body.
-
If these are done in a CONSISTENT manner, we should maintain and bring about the better normal forces and influences for this body of [1814].
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What doctor near his school would you suggest for giving the osteopathic treatments? (A) Anyone in sympathy with the suggestions indicated here. There are several about Philadelphia.
-
(Q) Is the disturbance he has experienced in his mental body caused from physical or psychological reasons? (A) It has been rather both, as we have indicated; and as suggested, there needs to be a better equilibrium established between the areas that have been outlined wherein the activities of the mental, the physical and the spiritual forces of the entity or body coordinate.
This would ensure, as it were, the maintaining of a balance; unless, to be sure, there is the breaking of such influences or forces by some unseen or unforseen activity.
-
(Q) Was it caused by the impingement of a bone against the nerve centers? (A) As indicated, MORE from the activity in the caecum and the lacteal area; though necessarily, as indicated from that suggested, there is an unalignment in the cerebrospinal system, especially where there are and were coordinations between sympathetic and cerebrospinal systems.
-
(Q) Did his middle ear operation injure him in any way? (A) This as we find may later cause some disturbance, but it depends upon how well the nerve impulses are applied, or kept coordinating through the adjustments as would be made in the upper dorsal and through the cervical area.
-
(Q) Is he in the right school for his present requirements? (A) This is very good for the present.
-
(Q) What are his greatest propensities? (A) These would be best given through the associations AS an ENTITY, rather than from here.
It will necessarily be, as we find, something that has to do with the out of doors, if it’s governed by a better physical reaction.
-
(Q) What part of country would be most harmonious for him? (A) As indicated, such questions as this may be best answered from the whole combination, rather than from physical alone.
-
(Q) Is his tendency to day dream to be encouraged? (A) This again is a continuous reference to the ENTITY, rather than just the physical.
-
(Q) Should he be allowed at any time during vacations the use of his motorcycle? (A) This had best be determined by his reactions after the correcting of those conditions in the cerebrospinal system. And as indicated as to his activities, if such is done under the supervision of or in association and companionship with others, well. Alone, not so well.
-
Do as has been outlined.
-
We are through for the present.

Dr. C. Haddon Soden, 711 Phila. Savings Fund Bldg., 12th & Market Sts., Phila., Penna., recommended by Dr. Frank Dobbins of N.Y.C., and has indicated his interest along psychic lines.
Dr. C. Paul Snyder, Phila., recommended by Dr. M. L. Richardson of Norfolk, Va.)
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 2/15/39 Mother’s letter reporting on the readings indicated she was grateful for the advice and was going to follow it. See under 1813-1 Reports.
R2. 5/39 EC & HLC saw the mother, Mrs. [1813] in N.Y.
R3. Later in 1949 Routine test mailing to Mrs. [1813} was ret’d marked MOVED, left no address.
R4. 2/9/80 Mr. [1814]‘s brother, Mr. [1815], told us that [1814] is still living and in good health - he married a widow with one child and later they had one together. Apparently the health problem was not too serious, since Mr. [1815] did not even know of it or that a reading had been obtained. Their mother, Mrs. [1813], who obtained a reading for each of them, died a few years ago after a long illness.
Background
Background
B1. 1/15/39 Mother Mrs. [1813]‘s letter requesting a Physical Rdg. for herself, a Physical Rdg. for her oldest son [1814], and a Life Rdg. for her younger son [1815]:
- [1814] has experienced a disturbance in his mental body. Is this caused from Physical or psychological reasons?
- How best can we integrate all the bodies permanently?
- Is he in the right school for his present requirements?
- What are his greatest propensities and how can we best train him for his expression in life? Give details if possible.
- What part of country would be most harmonious for this child, as well as his family?
- Would you suggest a physical reading for his present condition?
- He has a tendency to day dream. Is this to be encouraged? How would you direct the same?
- He has always loved motor vehicles and is an expert driver
- never an accident. Also understands some mechanics. Should he be allowed at any time during vacations the use of his motorcycle, which means so much to him? He is not allowed to at the school, for they do not know him well yet. He went there toward the end of Nov. - the 19th I believe. I should like to know whether he will be able to complete his education satisfactorily some day. We don’t wish to err in this matter. He has been quite a problem to us for nearly three years, since a breakdown at Genesee Wesleyan School, Lima, N.Y., not long after a middle ear operation. Your help will be much appreciated and all suggestions shall be followed to the best of our ability.
B2. 1/31/39 Mother [1813]‘s letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
We are so grateful for your gracious promptness and beg to say the dates you have selected are fine. - We made a visit to our [1814] at Devereux School this last Saturday and Sunday. He seemed so happy. Looked quite well and he likes the new Principal - a man instead of a woman. Word had reached us that he hurt his hand, but it was not serious.
If you feel the physical reading would give more light for [1814], you ought to know. Would that reveal whether he is in the best environment for his well-being at this time?
I desire to know if his mental derangement - which seems entirely gone now - would ever return - and if it was caused by the impingement of a bone against the nervous centers. If he is to need any osteopathic treatment, could a doctor near his school be selected. He is not far from Philadelphia. He has already had treatment by Dr. Benjamin Speer [Benjamin Speer, N.D.] in Scarsdale who said he was all right now. Did his middle ear operation injure him in any way? I should like to relieve [1814]‘s mind concerning himself - while nothing has been said - I notice he wonders a little about his normalcy.
They gave a fine report of him so I feel re-assured. I do hope he is always going to be normal.
Blessings on you and your splendid work.
The broadcasts Mysteries of the Mind by HLC] are making people think. This is a good idea.
Most sincerely yours, [1813]
[1814] will be alone and in the right mental attitude, at Devereux Hall, Berwyn, Pa., on Feb. 7, 3:30 to 4:30.
I [1813] will be in my room at home on Feb. 7 - 10:30 to 11:30.
[1813] will stay home from school Feb. 8 - 10:30-11:30.
