This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of June, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1907], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. [1942].
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
At the home of Time of Reading her daughter, 10:50 to 11:05 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Mrs. […].
-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, Mrs. [1907].
-
Now as we find, the slowing of the circulation - with the weaknesses that arise from same - is produced from the lack of vitality in the assimilating and digestive system.
-
Then the natural accumulations of toxic poisons from such a slowed condition cause at times the uncomfortableness through those portions of the system, and the lack of the vital energies necessary for the bettered condition.
-
The body feels more indisposed than ill. The body is more dis-eased than diseased, - hence there is a combination of disturbances to be reckoned with, as we have indicated.
-
As we find, first:
-
We would use Colonic Irrigations, at least ten days to two weeks apart, to cleanse the colon. The water should be body-temperature, that is used for such colonics, and should contain salt and soda, in the proportions of a heaping teaspoonful of table salt and a level teaspoonful of baking soda to each half gallon of water.
-
Also we would give Beef Juice for strengthening the body, - not broth, but pure beef juice. This would be taken before or after the meals, depending upon the FEELINGS of the body as related to the diets that have been indicated - which are well. Just a little of the pure beef juice taken at a time, but often, will be most helpful in strengthening. This would be taken before the regular meals or after same, - never more than a teaspoonful at the time, but take at least two to three to four minutes to sip this quantity - three to four times a day, you see.
-
Upon retiring, or in the afternoon after rest periods, it would be well to take a few drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin and a teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth stirred in a glass of water. This will aid in toning the digestive system; just as the colonics will aid in cleansing the colon area from the poisons that naturally are in excess under the disturbing conditions, - thus allowing for better assimilation and strength from that which is assimilated.
-
We would use the Radio-Active Appliance as a stimulation for aid in rest, and in keeping the body quiet and equalizing the circulation, preventing the tendency for coldness or clamminess in the extremities, and to make for better conditions throughout. This would be used about thirty minutes to an hour each day, but circulate the connections about the body in the manner as indicated for its use; being sure to always attach the same plate first each time (or the plate coming from the same anode), and to alternate the attachments in the manner outlined for the use of this Appliance. The plates should be kept very clean, being polished before and after being used. Do not make the attachments too tight upon either of the extremities, but in perfect contact.
-
Do these, and keeping the administrations in the order indicated, we will make the better forces and influences for this body of [1907].
-
Do that.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 6/14/39 Mr. [1942]‘s letter to EC:
…, Michigan
Mr. Edgar Cayce, Assoc. for Research & Enlightenment, Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Many thanks for the reading of Mrs. [1907] which came in today.
Everything is quite clear and we will proceed to treat the patient as suggested starting today (June 14th.)
The Radio-Active Appliance is ordered and will give treatments as suggested on receipt of same.
I wish to ask a question about diet. The patient has an upper plate, but no lower teeth or plate, therefore she is unable to masticate food properly.
Wheat wafers, Ry Krisp or Zwieback would have to be soaked in milk or other liquid in order to take with the pure beef juice. Please advise if these three wheats should be taken that way?
Now with regard to general foods and eating, can you not say what foods should be eaten and what should not be eaten?
And further can you not give the best combinations to be eaten for each meal?
During the last three months the patient has been having small quantities of the following foods, Orange juice - milk
- coffee - Postum - oatmeal (thoroughly cooked) - whole wheat bread - soda crackers - bisquits [biscuits] - custard - rice
- Jello - Tapioca - Junket - Corn Starch pudding (with fruit juice) - Cheese.
ELIMINATION: This is frequently very good - daily and normal. At times Aromatic Cascara is taken and Emulserol is taken as an aid.
More or less pain at times in the region of the left side and chest.
Assuming that improper foods or combinations of foods for several years have brought about a disturbed condition of the digestive organs, it would seem that in addition to what has been suggested in the reading of June 10th., we should have very definite advice regarding what foods should be taken and when, and as to the quantity.
Will you not advise us promptly in this matter and oblige?
We will keep a careful record of the patient’s nourishment and other data, with her reactions and keep you advised.
Sincerely, [1942]
P.S. Last weight taken was on May 25th - 75 pounds.
Some days she dresses herself and comes down stairs, other days does not get up.
This lady lives on her nerve more than on what she eats or enjoys.
R2. 6/16/39 EC’s letter to [1942]:
Dear Mr. [1942]:
Have yours of the 14th - note especially what you have to say about the diet for Mrs. [1907]. The diet she has been taking should be well until we can have the opportunity to ask in the information for a special diet. The whole wheat wafer may be crumbled in the Beef juice should make a very good way for her to take that, - we will take check reading on afternoon of the 22nd 3.30 to 4.30 and at that time will try and have a special diet outlined for her. Would use that as has been until then -
Hope this will be satisfactory.
As wrote you day or so ago your period is the afternoon of the 27th 3.30 to 4.30 E.S.T. - and is necessary that we know just where you are at the hour set.
Thanking you - wish you were with us here - having a very good meeting very nice attendance
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce

Mr. Edgar Cayce, Association for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Many thanks for your letter of May 26th. Rest assured that Mrs. […] and I would and will be with you at the convention if it is at all possible but unless Mrs. [1907] (Mrs. […]‘s mother) is much better than she has been during the past week, it will not be possible for either of us to leave here.
Mrs. […] wished a physical reading for her Mother, and taking the matter up with her, found that she is entirely in accord with the thought. She has read over the ‘Your attitude in seeking psychic information’ pages 14/17 inclusive and is sincere in her desire and has signed the application which is herewith attached.
We will appreciate the reading as quickly as possible, as she is suffering some pain and getting weaker.
The Doctor does not seem to help much with his medicine, and suggested diet.
If it is not possible to give her a reading before June 10th, I would be very glad to give my date for her reading, and take a later reading date for myself.
I enclose my cheque for $20.00 and am sending this air-mail, and will appreciate your replying air-mail or by wire collect if you can and will give her an early date, so that we can stand by at this end in prayer and harmony.
If she receives an earlier reading and you leave my reading as of Saturday A.M., June 10th., 10:30 to 11:30 E.S.T., I will join you as requested in prayer and harmony.
I will be absent from home until Tuesday attending a funeral of a nephew in Montreal Canada, but Mrs. […] will handle everything in my absence.
Sincerely, [1942]
P.S. Please mail me ten or more of the folders “A Man & His Work” What it may mean to you, by a Friend.
