This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of August, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1916], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading … Apt. C, 3:55 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern War Time. New York, N.Y.

1. GC: You will give the physical conditions of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions as I ask them.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1916]; this we have had before.

3. Many changes of many kinds have taken place in the body since last we had same here.

4. Some have been for great improvements.

5. As we find there are rather those conditions in the present that border on, or tend towards becoming, acute.

6. There has been and exists - which is the source of the headaches - congestion in the abdominal areas, and especially with the ovaries. This as we find should be watched rather closely. If there are tendencies for a temperature, have operation soon, but as long as these conditions remain dormant, there is the chance that they may be eradicated without an operation.

7. These applications, however, may stir activities; and it will depend upon how the body responds as to whether these conditions will be alleviated without an operation or not.

8. Every day for thirty minutes we would apply across the abdomen heavy Glyco-Thymoline Packs, using five or six thicknesses of cotton cloth well saturated in the Glyco-Thymoline. Do not put heat on these, for this body.

9. About every fifth day, we would take a douche with an Atomidine Solution; a teaspoonful of Atomidine in two quarts of water. Use only a fountain Syringe.

10. These should allay, and should eliminate these excesses.

11. But if there is a tendency for continued headaches, after using these, and any temperature, look for a surgeon.

12. A gentle massage, though not an adjustment, would be well for the body also; not too often but taken regularly. This had better be done by a masseuse, rather than any of those that would use the structural portions for levers as corrections.

13. Do that.

R1. See 7/31/60 and 8/6/60 letters under 1916-5 Reports. She told of how she had been cured of epilepsy at age 26 and was now 50 yrs. old. She did not mention 1916-6 or say whether she had overcome the headaches or undergone the surgery, etc.

R2. 1/25/72 Her husband wrote that she had been in poor health for several yrs. and had been in a nursing home for nearly 2 yrs. “The childhood head injury was a growing influence on her health and, even though I took her to Duke Univ. Hospital several times, there was apparently nothing that could be done to arrest the gradual physical (and some mental) deterioration. She is now about eighty percent paralyzed, unable to write and has very great difficulty in talking.”

R3. 5/30/73 GD’s note: Mrs. [1916]‘s cousin today told me that [1916] died about a year ago. “She had a lot of things to cope with during this lifetime.”

B1. From 1927 - Jan. 1931 she obtained four physicals and one life rdg. See 1916-5 report of being healed at age 26 of an epileptic condition which she had suffered since 4 yrs. of age.

B2. 4/30/43 She wrote: “I have for some time wanted a rdg. but was determined not to take up your time when it is needed for far sicker people, until I made up my mind I’d follow every tr. to the letter of the law. Now that drs. have had their fling and I still have my constant headaches, I have made up my mind. (1) Is it necessary for an ovarian and appendectomy operation; if not, what tr. for the inflammation? (2) What causes, and what can be done to eliminate, constant headaches?”
