This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of August, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1947], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.C.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1947].
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What is the condition of my ears? (A) Owing to the undue emotional conditions, these as we find - while somewhat better - are still causing a good deal of anxiety at times.
Also the strains through the body cause the kidneys and the pelvic organs to be disturbed.
We would take at least six osteopathic adjustments, especially in reference to the conditions from the 3rd and 4th dorsal to the base of the brain; and especially to ears, eyes and throat; and those in the lumbar and sacral for the organs of the pelvis AND the better eliminations - and the coordinations with kidneys and liver.
- (Q) Please give condition of gums and teeth, and suggested treatment. (A) As we find, we would use an equal combination of salt and soda as a massage for the gums twice each day.
We would have some local attention for some of the teeth, by a dentist.
-
(Q) Is Dr. Pleasants of … reliable in this respect? (A) Would be very good.
-
(Q) What is the explanation for the unhappy professional experience I had last winter? (A) This was a part of the experience of the entity in MEETING itself, as indicated through this channel, for soul-development for the entity. If these experiences are used as stepping-stones, and not as conditions to make for anxieties - or conditions in which there are grudges held, we find that they will prove beneficial.
There should be no disturbance, no unpleasantness from same, if there is kept the present attitudes - and if there is the honest application of those things as for the associations with others.
-
(Q) Will I continue to suffer, particularly in the case of creditors, because of it? (A) Not if there is the application as indicated.
-
(Q) How can I help my work of physical development become a national condition, as my Reading suggested? (A) By the manners in which the first application of same is to be spread as a regular curriculum in the teen age students, see? This should be through the stressing of same, and thus there will gradually be those activities as indicated becoming a part of the regular activities for betterment of the physical health, of teen age girls especially.
-
(Q) Have I really grown in spiritual maturity? (A) Grown a great deal. Do not allow those anxieties, because of what others may say, to change thy ideal and its purposes and its application to others.
-
(Q) Any other suggestions? (A) Keep close to those ideals which prompted the entity to launch the activities. For these may be made beneficial in the experience of others.
For, if the activities that have been a part of the experience were something added to one of thine own, it would be worth the world!
- We are through with this Reading. [See below note re next attempted Rdg.]

R1. 8/21/41 [1947]‘s letter to EC:
…, N.C.
Dear Mr. Cayce,
I am enclosing the $10.00 for my Check reading and how much do I owe you for the children’s? I do appreciate your taking that time for them SO much. I feel quite relieved about their conditions now. [Copied into 2005-2 and 2004-3 Reports]
As for my reading it helped tremendously! I can’t tell you how much it helped my state of mind!
I am hoping so much that it will be the right thing for me to remain in the south this winter. Opportunities are opening up, but I don’t want to take the wrong step for the children’s sake, so I’m waiting for a sign from God, as it were, of some kind, - to show me the right avenue.
Thank you many times again for your wonderful help. God bless you.
Sincerely and affectionately -
R2. 8/25/41 EC’s letter to [1947]:
Dear Mrs. [1947]
Thanks very much for yours of the 21st - glad you were pleased with the Children’s readings, and that your own helped. That is just fine that if I know anything is the whole purpose of the information - to help the real seeker. Of course it can be misapplied very easily, like using razors to sharpen pencils or corns or fountain pens for toothpicks. And misapplication of information - if it be of a spiritual source - may be just as crude as the above don’t you think.
Feel sure your opportunities are here now - and that all will work out for the best for all. You are quite right - He can and will guide all the way. “Wait ye on the Lord” is not amiss nor just an idle word, real to those who consistently, live and be just a waiter on the Lord, for the help of others.
We are kept pretty busy round here, am expecting a lot of company this weekend several are here and other expected from several states - wish might have you with us.
Thanks for everything. All here send love and regards

R3. 12/10/41 (Wednesday) [1947]‘s letter to Cayces:
Dear Cayces -
I think about you so often. The last reading has been so true - so far that I’m coming for more help, which I judge will be my last for a long time, since it should finish settling all my problems and getting my new life all in order
- all of which is due to you. I am extremely happy ALMOST perfectly so, and I believe this reading will complete it.
Will you please make an appointment for a check physical reading as soon as possible? I know how busy you must be right now with the war’s outbreak.
I can’t seem to get the book I’ve been promising you for a year, actually in your hands. Everyone who has borrowed it insists on keeping it. The predictions have worked out so well there, too. I’m going to try once more, however.
I am enclosing 1/2 of the amount - the rest to come on receipt of the reading, I hope. In case you have a sudden vacancy, - except for being in … county Tuesday afternoon, I am at … High School every school morning, and in Chapel Hill somewhere - the rest of the time.
Mrs. [1663] told me of your wonderful healing. So marvelous.
God bless you for all you have accomplished for us all. I hope some of these questions will help you, too.
Much love, [1947]
